#622 - There’s a Battle for the Door in the Attic of the Sanctum in the City at the Bottom of the Sea

It’s no secret-- nor is it particularly well known-- it merely just IS-- that I was a huuuge huge fan of the Nuklear Power webcomic back in the day. It easily heavily influenced my humor and writing style, and certainly started my interest in webcomics at a young age, particularly of the fantasy comedy drama.

Why tell you all this? Well, because this page very vaguely reminds me of this joke in Nuklear Power.

Most plans are critically flawed by their own logic. A failure at any step will ruin everything after it. That's just basic cause and effect. It's easy for a good plan to fall apart. Therefore, a plan that has no attachment to logic cannot be stopped. The success or failure of any given step will have no impact on the macro level.

Hey, does anyone read 8-bit Theater? It’s been years since it was finished but I’ve only started recently and now the website has been down for a few days and I’m kinda worried. You wouldn’t just shut down a thing that took you 10 years to make, would you. Any ideas/words of comfort?

Red Mage: Relax. I've got a ton of ranks in my bartering skill. Probably.

Black Mage: Probably?

Red Mage: (It was that or animal husbandry....) Look, it doesn't matter anyways. I rolled really well. Probably.

Black Mage: PROBABLY?

Red Mage: Oh, I let Not Akbar make the roll for me so my knowledge of the roll wouldn't color my portrayal of its result. He told me what I, as the character Red Mage, thought of my ability to barter based on my roll. It's a more pure form of roleplaying, you see. He said I was so confident in my ability to get the best deal, that I should start the bidding with everything we have.

Thief: Not Akbar just ran past me in the woods crying tears of joy.
