Can't fight god if you don't look cute
Hey, it's about your girlfriend. Yeah her shell of bone split open like an iron maiden to reveal a million razor-sharp teeth and claws. Yeah she's wondering why a small and quiet place is too much to ask for
I blacked out after reading the page and woke up with this on my desktop
God I cannot get over this Nukoku panel from the latest update. Like. She’s just standing there. 🧍♀️core. Like yeah if my sort of ex girlfriend who I hadn’t seen since I died and got resurrected as a different entity basically told me to sit this one out as she was preparing to fight a nigh-unkillable demigod of anger and some metrosexual with the largest ship ever I’d probably be standing exactly like that too.
ideal female body
OUGH MY GODS WHEN YOU MUST REACH HEAVEN THROUGH VIOLENCE THEN TO SIN AGAINST HEAVEN IS TO SEEK PEACE AUGH MY GIRL MY HEART FUCK 😭😭😭
Nukoku reminds me a lot of her namesake, a replacement so bad you can't help but wonder "what the fuck were they thinking?" everytime you see her. I was holding out hope that maybe we'd still get a conclusion to Cio's character arc, but it seems like the best we're getting is a weak acknowledgement of the central flaw she was supposed to outgrow from someone who isn't even actually her. My perspective could be skewed having read the comic so recently, but it seems like everything interesting this comic set up barring White Chain's transition has been throttled. I really hope Tom Bloom actually manages to do something interesting with this concept, more realistically I hope I stop caring about the comic long before he fucks it up even more in the conclusion.
Now if I were some sort of nerd I would start drawing parallels to Jungian Psychology and how this ties to the concepts of shadow and persona
How the Devils being depicted as a raw chaotic forces of selfish impulses and instinct that have to hide behind masks in order to exist in society
Works quite well with the idea of the conscious vs the subconscious
And how Nukoku's lack of mask makes her the manifestation of Cio's subconscious emotions and selfish desires. Basically an unfiltered version of all the best and worst parts of our short queen
But you know... only if I was a nerd... which I'm not, so I definitely wouldn't draw that comparison
