Soul half

Some of you may have noticed that Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal is heavily influenced by esoteric beliefs. Astral manifests in a so-called etheric (astral) body. The astral world, represents a higher dimension and there suggestion of astral and Yuma as soul halfs. That would mean, that they are so called twin flames. But the question is, are they really twin flames? Or are they maybe soul mates? ~

What is an soul mate?

- It can be a friendship or a romantic relationship - they are on the same wavelength - They complement each other - They are companions and/or teachers

What is a twin flame?

- Is a mirror of yourself - They force us to work on unresolved problems (Characterdevolopment) - One soul in two bodies - Mostly romantic, but can also be a friendship - Their relationship does not always ends positively

~ Why Yuuma is Astrals soul mate...

Yuuma and Astral complement each other: - Yuuma is inexperienced, Astral is experienced - Yuuma is emotional, Astral is unemotional - Yuuma is outspoken, Astral is more reserved - Yuuma plays a very offensive role in duels, Astral is more defensive - - Yuuma is red, Astral is blue Astral and Yuuma learn from each other: Yuuma taught Astral to understand human emotions, that despite one's fear, one should have courage, about passion and will, and learning through mistakes. Astral, on the other hand, taught Yuuma clarity and strategy, how to find calm in the storm of the Eye, how to reflect on himself, and how to take responsibility. He also gained greater foresight through Astral. Not to mention that Astral was Yuuma's traveling companion throughout the series. The wrong interpretation of ZeXal: Judging by Yuuma and Astral's ZeXal-Morph, one might assume they are twin flames. However, it's important to note the exact wording of Astral, when he recites ZeXal: “When two souls become one, the power of ZEXAL is unleashed.” In Japanese, the saying goes: “When two souls become one, the power of ZEXAL is released.” When TWO souls become one. This refers to two different souls. Not a divided soul that becomes one again through ZeXal. Otherwise, the saying would have had to read "When two soul halves reunite,..." You also see Astral and Yuuma sitting somewhere, controlling the body together. This is more of an occupation than a true union (pls call the exorcist). Had a union taken place, ZeXal would have been a separate entity, just like Black Mist. Besides, the X in ZeXal certainly comes from the YXZ monsters, which also fuse. And with at least three of them, not all of them are the same soul. ~ So we can talk about Yuuma and Astral as soul mates. But who could Astral's twin flame be? I suspect it's Don Thousand...

Development: In Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, you first see the usual "good heroes fight against dark forces" narrative. With Astral on the good side and Don Thousand on the evil side. But through Don Thousand, Astral has made experiences, that question this. Astral learns from Don Thousand to question Elipha's authority as the guardian of the astral world. He now knows, that order through absolute control isn´t a good thing. Instead of thinking in terms of good (order) and evil (chaos), he now focuses on the balance between both forces.

So Astral was able to develop through his encounter with his twin flame and with Yuuma as key (or teacher), while Don Thousand only had a bad experience, but doesen´t develop. They reflect each other: A person who mirrors you is superficially like you. You recognize yourself in them. However, they are not your exact replica; they represent different values ​​than you do. - Both were after the Nummoron Code, to use it to destroy the others world - Both are cool-headed - Both fight with strategy - Both strove for power and control (at the beginning) - Don Thousand maintained these principles while Astral evolved - Astral represents light and Don Thousand Darkness So it is more likely that Don Thousand is Astral's soul half (twin flame) and Yuuma is his soul mate. But why do I differentiate? It's simple. Relationships with soul mates are actually always positive experiences that can help you move forward. But there are many soul mates; you only have one twin flame. Relationships with your twin flame don't always end positively. They are very intense and therefore address sore spots more intensely. However, you also have a stronger connection with your twin flame, than with your soul mate.

lol remember near the end of zexal when Astral was like “i’m going to the numeron source”, accidentally calling Don Thousand’s bluff that he’d allow Astral to die so the blast got send to astral world and eliphas instead? pretty sure that’s what happened
