Nekocon Photo Update
AKA If I Took Pictures of You This Weekend, This is for You
Okay. So. I have about ten shoots to go through from Neko, and a bunch more hall shots to sort through. Some of them won't take as long and I'll try to get them up by the end of the week, but the ones that need heavy editing (basically any of them with gray bodypaint) are going to take longer. The plan is to get the hall shots up first, and then go through the private shoots in chronological order.
If I feel like I'm not up to the challenge of covering a large area of skin tone with troll gray, I'll go ahead and give you your pictures as-is and you can edit them to your heart's content.
Also! If you want me to do something special with yours (like you want to post them yourself or you want me to tag them something special) this is the time to let me know. :D

Because Harbor View theater has $5 movies on Tuesdays, I am gonna go see TWO MOVIES tomorrow--Iron Man 3 and Star Trek: Into Darkness. I have been trying for like two weeks now to round up someone to go with me, to no avail. SO! I am posting this now because I'm going to go do this regardless if anyone comes with me or not, but because movies are fun with friends, if anyone wants to tag along, you should plan to meet me at 3:30-ish in front of the theater and we can MAKE THIS HAPEN.
The times I'm shooting for are:
Iron Man 3 at 3:55 and
Star Trek at 8:20
and these are both the regular screenings because FUCK THAT 3D NOISE. Since Iron Man is a little over 2 hours long, that leaves us about two hours to go get dinner, use the bathroom, chill, whatever. So yeah! That's the plan. Show up if you wanna hang out.

6: Name some of the works that had a big influence on you and explain how.
Zelda just in terms of how I think about video games and what I want out of them, Ocarina of Time was one of the first games I played that really made an impact on me.
Eragon, because it first came out around the time I was first starting to realize that I really enjoyed writing and the fact that “hey there’s this great book that someone only a few years older than me wrote!” And then when I re-read it before Eldest came out I realized “wow this isn’t that great” and then when I read Eldest I was like “wahhh it’s soo much better he’s improved so much!” Of course nowadays I don’t really have anything especially positive to say about the series but it will always stick with me because it essentially taught me “hey you can do this and you never stop improving” And I really look forward to seeing what Paolini with come up with now that he’s free to do something new.
14: What are some of the fictional foods you wish you could try?
Mudder’s Milk? I don’t know I’m kind of blanking on fictional foods at the moment.
23: Who are some of the most unforgivable villains?
It’s honestly been a while since there’s been a really unforgivable villain that stuck with me. Like for a long time I was set on Naraku because y’know he doesn’t just go around wantonly killing or anything, he specifically does anything and everything he can to completely ruin a person’s life and not only that but does so in a way that benefits him. But like, I just don’t caaaaaare about Inuyasha anymore :P
25: Name some of the stories you want to own a copy of for the rest of your life.
DIGIMON ADVENTURE! I would pay any amount of money to own a dvd set of the whole series with ENGLISH AND JAPANESE language tracks. Like they started re-releasing it recently with dub only and it’s just like NO I WANT BOTH!!! That rant just made me forget any other answers I was thinking of….

3. What was your most technically difficult cosplay to make? Why?
Um, I guess I’ll exclude props. There was a lot of dyeing involved with making God Tier Rose, and I’m awful at hemming cotton interlock. But I guess the hardest thing to sew was the bodice type thing for velvet squiddleknit. I’m glad I didn’t follow the corset pattern and make it for real, that would have ended badly.
11. Describe your worst cosplay experience.
I have a worst meetup up experience, which I was in cosplay for, but I’m not so sure that counts. Probably the wobbly horn + hobble skirt experience that was walking around in my first attempt at rainbowdrinker Kanaya. It still looked good, and I had fun, but it was hard to move in.
19. What’s something you wish you could figure out how to construct/a cosplay element you want to incorporate but don’t know how yet? How are you tackling it?
Ahaha, the work in progress that is my Kurloz light up skeleton. I need to go back to working on it. I’m back lighting the skeleton with strip LEDs and I still don’t know how well it will work, but I guess we’ll find out eventually.
