Future Aspirations & Ambitions
“A genius is someone who takes a complex thing and makes it look simple. An academic does the opposite.” ― Robert Fanney
For the longest of time, I spent the majority of my childhood idolizing my parents and their ideals. I believed that their values, ambitions, aspirations, future plans, and dreams were more important than anything else. Perhaps that deification resulted in my interminable desire to pursue a profession within the medical field. Perhaps that is where my voracious hunger for medical academia began.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love my parents, but I figured the hard way that they are not always in the right, or are they always in the wrong. But they really emphasized how I should study to become a doctor and that my younger brother study to be a lawyer.
Perhaps that early passion for the field is what propelled me to major in Nursing.
I didn’t solidify my decision until high school. I was even lingering between enlisting, a performing musician, and a marine biologist by my senior year as well. Eventually, I made my decision.
I haven’t regretted it so far. I am excited for everything that this field has to offer, and I have the current plan on graduating in four years with a BSN, to pass the NCLEX and certify as an RN, to pay off loans, and to go back to graduate school as a DNP or an NP.
Nursing is a notoriously difficult major due to the demand, the time and the effort, the workload, and the proper mentality and attitude.
I am positive that this will pay off someday.
