Pretty much addicted to the show Nurse Jackie. Too bad there is only one episode online that I'm able to watch on Showtime... GRR.

one last nursing class to get oriented into tomorrow, and then my health assessment lab :)
Waking up at 8am tomorrow, going to breakfast. My stomach clearly told me this morning that skipping breakfast makes it upset. Another new class tomorrow: Health Assessment. This is so exciting :) I love Nursing classes. & I found out (well I'll know more tomorrow) that at the end of my Health Assessment course I will be able to take the state exam to become a CNA, then I can get a really good paying summer job! Possibly at the nursing home that I worked at throughout the past 2 years!! :D
got my bag of goodies!
I'm such a nerd when it comes to medical supplies and equipment. Today during my Fundamentals lab we each got our OWN bag of "goodies." Inside are some awesome things. A gown, cap, booties, gloves, mask, IV bag and tubing, catheter kit, syringes, needles, and so much more! :D It's so exciting!! But now I've gotta go study up, and learn some medical terminology!
First day as a Nursing student today! Only one class :) Fundamentals in Nursing from 9-12! Then I'm probably coming back to my room and taking a nap. lol
words can't describe.
This morning was great. I attended the nursing student meeting from 8:30-12. Seriously, I cannot even explain in words how freaaaaaking excited I am for classes, clinicals, and just everything to start! Walking into the nursing building just made me happy, and then Sue Idczak, the director of Nursing at Siena Heights came over, said hi and gave everyone a hug! Before the meeting started, Sue prayed. That right there made me 100% more sure that I most definitely want to be there. To hear her express to our Lord how blessed and grateful we are to all be in that room and to be able to- in time- become nurses. To be able to care for multiple patients, and to bring people back to health, whether they be 80 or 8 years old. A blessing. We went around the room saying our names, where we're from, what makes us unique and a fun fact about ourselves. I need to come out of my shell, a lot, and I feel like this next step in my life will be a huge help! Sue proceeded to congratulate all of us, and told us that we are the 16 students that the faculty chose out of 50+ to enter into the nursing program. Now I feel accomplished. Later on, a women from ProMed Uniforms came in and talked about prices and showed us the uniforms that we are to wear during clinicals. The scrubs are so cool and we are to buy lab coats too! The scrubs are royal blue with the Siena Heights Nursing logo, how professional. Now I've just gotta find me some white tennis shoes, and order my scrubs. Then I'll be on my way to becoming a nurse :)
