I’m so excited to share with you what came in the mail the other day! It’s Faye’s very own Promil Four #NurtureTheGift Photobook featuring her simple creations since she was younger. I actually feel bad that most of her photos when she was younger got corrupted in my old phone. I don’t have much aside from those posted on social media. That’s why having these photos printed now is really special to us.

I believe that parents are every child’s number one fan. No matter how big or small their achievements are, us parents will always be proud and happy for what they have accomplished. My eldest daughter, Faye, has shown interest in styling since the age of 3. And by styling, I mean styling her dolls. This all started when she used playdoh to make dresses for her little dolls. She was also able to make dresses out of the tissue, deflated balloons, handkerchiefs, ponytail, paper, and adhesive tapes ⎯ talk about recycled fashion! I think she has an inclination to become a fashion designer one day.
And as parents, it is our responsibility to nurture their gift. We should encourage them by praising and giving positive reinforcements because our words matter to them the most. We should also provide more avenues for them to discover and cultivate their gift. In our case, we allow her to experiment with her dolls. This might not look good for some, because it means “messing with the doll” somehow. But for us, this only means endless opportunities. She can alter their dresses and even change the character from what it really is. The possibilities are all up to her. And finally, aside from these, proper nutrition plays a very important role in her growth and mental development. With all these factors together, I think we are helping our children to shine and be able to use their gifts.

Now let me show you some of the photos. This makes me feel all-mushy and warm inside. What a very meaningful memento this would be to look back to when she is older. I guess she really grew and improved throughout these years. She can make more complicated designs now, headpieces and shoes included. ☺ That’s why we promise, her daddy and I, that we will continue supporting her. We will continue to provide more avenues for her to learn and grow. We will support her passion for the arts and styling by giving her the materials so she can explore more. I really appreciate this Promil #NurtureTheGift Photobook for reminding us how much Faye has improved.
