🔆 @shamanicstarology 🌙 This is an important Dark Moon period. Its zenith takes place on July 12, 10:48 pm EDT, with a partial New Moon Solar Eclipse at Cancer 21°. This is the first eclipse in a series of three, followed by a Total Eclipse of the Moon on July 27 and another partial Solar Eclipse on August 11. Eclipses mark the end of one phase and the beginning of another. The time encompassing the transition – in this instance, four weeks – is like moving through a tunnel from one area to another. It’s dark and we cannot see. The deeper meaning of an eclipse series is revealed through the sign emphasis. Except for this first eclipse, the current highlight is on the Leo/Aquarius axis - the individual versus the collective. This July 12 eclipse emphases the water sign Cancer, associated with home, family, children, safety and security. It is dominated by an opposition to Pluto/Osiris – Lord of the Underworld; God of Regeneration. Life, death, rebirth. In Shamanic Egyptian Astrology, Cancer is aligned with Nut and Geb, our Divine Parents who through their love create a container of safety for all Earthlings. It is worth noting that the United States is a Cancer country. Home, family and safety are important to us. Right now, we do not feel safe. Our fears about our personal lives and the safety of our families are triggered by real life dramas - children separated from their parents, children trapped in caves, the specter of families hurt by intractable government decisions. There is no indication that the current trend will be reversed anytime soon. This Solar Eclipse is also characterized by an earth Grand Trine, a pattern of harmony and flow. Substantial matters are being decided and policies put into place with very little opposition. And, the story is not over. The larger issue – the creation of a collective that honors the needs of the individual – is still unresolved and we all have a role to play.
