“It won’t be easy, especially in the beginning, but it will be worth it.”

It is difficult to love ourselves when we are surrounded by people who try to show that they are happy and the world is made for them, thus creating insecurities. We’ll think that the “life” they achieved is much better than ours. You will never fully achieve self-love if you're constantly looking at what others have that you don't.

It is easier to love others than ourselves because only we know who we truly are, and having to accept everything we have in our minds is difficult. Essssspecially because we believe that everyone else is perfect, everyone but ourselves. Well, sometimes the grass isn’t truly greener on the other side. Because the reality is that everyone has their own insecurities and problems.

It means that despite the challenges faced, our well-being should still come first. It is okay to be selfish. Especially when it comes to protecting yourself, thinking for yourself before you think for others, guarding your heart. Everyone’s definition of “self-love” is not the same. We are unique in our own ways & until we (you & i) fully accept that…. Then we have not reached the very peak of loving ourselves.

Keep trying baby, don’t give up. x

to the lovely people who were:

forced to walk in the grass when the sidewalk was full, spoken over when you tried to contribute, whispered about or laughed at, given the side eye when you tried to fit in... you are so worthy of love, and i’m sorry people have convinced you otherwise. i promise that your people are out there —people who will see the side of you others ignore, people who share weird inside jokes with you, give you affectionate nicknames and fulfil whatever idea of friendship you’ve always fantasized about. if you feel like an empty shell of your former self because you’ve hidden yourself away due to shame (or whatever the reason may be), this exterior will melt when you accept yourself or let people in and you’ll realize there was nothing wrong with you all along. you have interesting things to say, you deserve new chances and beginnings, your heart is probably made of gold because you know what it’s like to be left out in the cold, and you have so much to give.

i know it sounds ridiculously simple:

learn to be selfish. love yourself. you are the most important person in your life and your happiness matters as much as anybody else’s. i love you—i will gladly tell you over & over again, if it helps to remind you that:

you’re an absolute gem, darling.

I am so sorry you have felt the pain that you have. I am so sorry you have felt so alone and wildly misunderstood. I am so sorry you have felt like you don't belong here, that you aren't meant for this life. I am so sorry that you believed the only way you were going to find peace was to leave… forever.

1 am so sorry those dark thoughts ever touched your mind. I am so sorry people weren't as kind to vou as vou were to them. I am so sorry you were treated like a doormat. I am so sorry the world became unbearable to live in. I hope vou start to see vourself as the light that you are — you’re a beacon of strength. Most people couldn’t have been through what you have and still be here today,

Even if you aren't where you want to be, you are here, filling the world with compassion. Even if you can't see your purpose clearly, you are trying, and that is enough. Your story will save someone. You are here to give hope to those who are hopeless. You will be remembered by the love you left behind.

Because it's those who have been to hell and back, who have put in the work to heal, who have used their pain for purpose that leaves the biggest impact on those they cross paths with in this life. You see, sometimes life tears our worlds apart, because we deserve to know the beauty that always comes after being patient & having conviction.

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَآ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ

“As for those who believe and do good — We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear — it is they who will be the residents of Paradise. They will be there forever.” (Surah Al-A'raf, 7:42)

See yourself through, darling. I promise you, one day you will look back on your life and realize that you always had what vou needed to get through. He always provided you with what you needed.

The truth is hiding in your eyes. And it's hanging on your tongue. Just boiling in my blood. But you think that I can't see, what kind of man that you are — If you're a man at all. Well, I will figure this one out on my own… I’m screaming “i love you so”.

You are enough even when you don't feel like it. Even on your darkest days, you know…. the ones when you don't even feel like getting out of bed? Yup, you're enough on those days too. You are enough even when your heart has been hurt by someone you love and care about. You know those days (everyday, for me) when you stand in front of the mirror and don't feel like yourself? You’re especially enough on those days too. When you're exhausted, run off your feet and didn't finish everything you needed to that day, you're enough then too. You are enough.

Listen — I know the days are long and the nights are the worst, but please try your best to hang on to memories that will make you smile. And moving forward, only allow good company into your life.

You always are and you always have been enough. Be kind to yourself. Today and always. x
