I just realized something about that “new” pokemon going around in pokemon go

this guy ^

so, there’s supposed to be a new pokemon that Lets Go Eevee/Pikachu players can get from transferring it from Pokemon Go, and Its supposed to be first released in Pokemon Go

I think this guy is it, but more importantly, I think I know which pokemon this guy is

I think this is Nintendo’s Canonical “Missing.No” design!

think about it! It’s been speculated to be a kind of placeholder pokemon, like missingno originally was, and in Pokemon go it’s name shows up as “???” also something in common with missingno’s of all generations!

it can transform in a variety of other pokemon, most notably a Ditto but also randomly a Kecleon

in RBY when you caught a missingno and transferred it to pokemon stadium, it also turned into a ditto by default

but also missingnos in gen 1 could also evolve and transform into other pokemon as well, as well as some missingno’s types were glitch hybrids of other pokemon, exactly how this guys situation is with Kecleon, having its cry, taking up it’s slot in the slot, but also having its own number (891)

and the third thing, is that in modern games, Missingno often appears as a Shiny Bulbasaur with set traits and attributes (this is due to the games coding of all those traits being 0, Bulbasaur is 000 Pokemon, shiny state is 0 etc) Missingo essentially being what you try to get when you turn nothingness into a pokemon

and what else can this funky little guy transform into in Pokemon Go? the Shiny Gen 2 Grass starter, Chikorita!

With all of these things, PLUS the fact that its going to be a “New” Pokemon in a game focused on the Kanto region, which is where originally Missing.no got it’s start from

I’m almost 100% certain this is at the very least a reference to the idea of a MissingNo, if not MissingNo’s new canonical “design” the “pokemon” missingno was always meant to be!
