It was during the renaissance period, that jewelry spread widely, across european countries.The world had become connected through trade routes, that subsquently, brought together different civilizations.The raw materials could be more accessible, and pieces of jewelry became more available. 

Meantime, as the world had access to other cultures, jewelry become more popular and they were handcrafted in diferent styles. Those jewelry pieces, could be influenced, for instance, in the baroque or gothic style. 

Regarding this facts, this necklace was created inspired in the renaissance era.

Some of you know me in person, and some of you know me from standing against the dcmt and animal cruelty. Only a few know that my facebook account is being so censored, that i almost can't do anything, and almost no one see my posts. If by any chance, an animal activist as sent me messages, please forgive me for not replying, but i have not been able to enter messenger for months, and after my latest one month block, it got worse. This is what happens when someone stands against social media platforms. Unfortunatly my work account, is connected to my personal one, and facebook as the control freak as my account on their red list. New 💙 Medieval Jewelry Set Each time i create a piece, i pass a little of what i have learn from jewelry history and ancient crafts techniques. Im a self learner, and im very proud of my creations. I could simply shared the finish piece, and that's it...but, i like to take the time to create unique texts to ilustrate from were my inspiration comes...guess that's what makes them unique...at least for me 🥰 So, this new jewelry set was inspired by the history of chain mail. Hope you like it! 🧡 When thinking of chain mail, one cannot help but wonder where it was used for the first time.  Accordingly to some historians, chain mail or mail, was firstly used by the Celts or the Romans, still there are others who believe it can be traced back to Asian Countries.   Despite this fact, it can be confirmed, that chain mail was used throughout the Middle Ages and at least until the 16th Century.  At first, mail armors where consisted by sewing iron rings to fabric or leather in forms that could be adapted to the body.  These handcrafted armors, served to protect knights from being cut by their opponents blade.  Around the 12th Century, medieval armoures improved significantly.  Instead of being sewn on garments, chain mail was independently fabricated, using steel links that where riveted or soldered.  Being flexible and allowing movement, and easy to repair if pierced, there were several advantages of using it.  Link in bio! New 🧡 16th Century Jewelry Necklace When Henry VIII succedded the throne, after his father´s death, at the young age of 17th, he was considered a prince of the renaissance.  The new king jubilated charm, charisma and intelligence, and above all, he was extremelly generous.  As some historians claim, he was the exact opposite of his father, and was proud in manifesting this.  During his reign , the King was able to impress foreign ambassadors by presenting a court that was the center for artists and schollars.  While it was luxurious and glamorous, there where rules in the King´s court for the usage of jewelry and clothing.  As an example, only royalty could wear purple velvet fabrics. There where some exceptions created for the higher office´s, for the usage of silk, damaske and satin.  Regarding the jewelry, the same laws where applied. Gold, silver, copper and gilded metals where allowed to nobility, only in some exceptions.  The "sumptuary laws" where a way to restrict and differenciate the importance of, first the royalty, and second the nobility.  Fascinated by the court glamour of King Henry VIII, i handcrafted this historically inspired 16th century jewelry necklace.  Now available on the site! NEW 🥀 Ghotic Jewelry Set Inspired by the gothic fashion, i've created this lightweighted gothic jewelry set. Although centuries may pass, and fashion styles could be different, jewelry as always represented an important part of a particular historic period.  After the downfall of the Byzantine empire their influence throughout europe degraded.  Subsquently, the usage of romanesque jewelry fell out of favor. As a result, a new jewelry style was on the edge.  The passage from the romanesque fashion to the happearence of the gothic fashion happen progressively.  As a result, beautiful and elegant designs emerged with the rising of new goldmsmith techniques, that where greatly influenced by the architectural buildings.  Romantic and passionate, gothic jewelry surely reflected the importance of all art forms of that time.  Necklace length with pendant: 36 cms.
