A Discussion with a Plush Connor - Nvtfoa Short Story.
Hello! I’m back and back at it again!. So let me start this off properly...
*ahem*
SALUTATIONS AND GREETINGS DENIZENS OF THE INTERNET! I’m Burst-Zen and I hope you all forgive me for the long hiatus, I didn’t have a computer to post anything or write anything with, and it was summer vacation for me so I hope you understand.
Both character design and concepts from Svtfoe are belonging to Disney and Disney XD.

The light from the window peered into the room as the young princess stirred from her slumber, her rich brown hair frazzled and unorganized spread across her bed. She slowly opened her light blue eyes as her mental activity began to stir and aroused herself to look around the room haphazardly as she groaned in annoyance. The thought of picking herself up off her bed to get ready for the day seemed almost poisonous to her in a sense, as if the action would cause her unending, annoying, pain for all eternity.
Her sense of touch slowly came back to her, however, and she felt the soft fabric of something plush within her grasp. She brought it to her eyes as she revealed a small doll of a boy that was an avatar of a childhood friend… and whom she enjoyed the thought of sharing a life with one another every day.
Although she would never admit it to anyone, especially to the person previously mentioned.
She stared at the plush form of Connor, the soft white skin of his fabric, the messy black hair, black buttons that acted like eyes, a white T-shirt that held a crescent moon in the center, and dark legs that indicated black pants on the plush. Nova stared at the doll for a moment and sighed as she sat up to stretch her upper body and grabbed a phone that sat on a nightstand beside the bed.
Nova saw the time being only ten minutes until the alarm on the device went off. She sighed and looked back at the bed and flopped her head back down on the pillows, however, her vision soon took hold of the doll that she previously held in her grasp and grumbled.
“Nooooo…. You know I don't do mornings,” Nova said to the doll, “Especially if I wake up early.”
The doll simply stared while Nova kept speaking, “Yes I know It's my fault for staying up all the time, I couldn't have guessed that from the thousands of times you actually told me… The actual you, not the plush you.”
Nova face-planted herself in her pillow and sighed softly, “I don’t want to wake uuuuup.”
A sudden buzz was felt within her grasp and she reflexively looked at the front of her phone, and when she looked, she realized that there was a new text message with a profile picture eerily similar to the stuffed toy in
She was disgruntled at first, but the message read 'Connor: Nova? Can we talk?’
Nova sat up with new found interest, and minor hidden annoyance, as she sat up from laying down and hastily replied “Nova: I'm up, wassup?”
After a few moments, a reply came back that read, “Connor: I can't sleep. Something just keeps waking me up, Any ideas?”
Connor tapped her chin and tried to think of a response for him. Realizing she needed more to go on than simple vague words, she wrote “Nova: What's on your mind?”
Another awkward moment passed, and a reply was sent back after a minute “Connor: I keep thinking about plans for something, but I keep drawing blanks for how to do it.”
Nova rolled her eyes “Nova: Another invention?”
“Connor: Something like that”
She smiled and rolled her eyes as she turned to the doll and said, “Your so predictable, ya know that?” She turned back to the screen and replied with, “Nova: What is it?”
More time passed as Nova awaited for a reply, hints of curiosity and slight worry began to perculate within her mind as she looked back at the ‘friend’ that laid beside her and she said “Do you think that it's a secret project? Is that why he’s taking a little bit to reply?”
She pondered the thoughts for a moment as she began to imagine the what new construct Connor could have made, and what it could have possibly been. However, she soon stopped as she knew that guessing on a whim would be fruitless to know whatever he made in detail. The creation in question, she knew, would be too creative and unique to attempt something like that.
Just when she was about to think of leads to narrow down available options, another text appeared that read, “Connor: It's actually a Sonic screwdriver replica from the “Doctor Who” series that you like to watch with me whenever we hang out. It's taking me a while to find all the right metals to recreate the tenth’s screwdriver, like iron or the bronze…”
Nova’s eyes widened as the rest of the text spoke of various intricacies of what the aforementioned replica was made, and even what it would do. Her excitement began to build within her heart, and she even thought about yelling for joy in a pillow but decided against waking up her neighborhood.
She quickly regained part of her composure, failed, and then looked at her cellular phone to reply back with, “Nova: Really?!?! Why did you make it for me?!”
Nova's felt her chills around her body at the excitement of getting an expertly crafted, real working, and slightly functional Sonic screwdriver from the show. She typed once more before Connor could reply again “Nova: When can I see it?!?!”
Nova got a quick reply that simply read, “Connor: I was actually planning to give it to you today.” The next post was not a text, but instead a picture of the actual screwdriver nearing completion on a familiar work table proudly being displayed in the middle of various bits and pieces of machinery and metal.
Nova turned towards the makeshift plush version of her best friend to embrace it in a gentle hug with a warm smile on her face.
“Nova: AWESOME! I'll be at school right away then! Thanks, Connie!” She texted this whilst multitasking with both hands. Once more, she looked at the childhood memory and spoke as though she was staring at the real Connor.
“You're the best friend a girl could ask for, you know that?”
The sound of 'friend’ rang in her mind and her smile began to lessen slightly as certain thoughts were thrown into her mind unwillingly, and were thoughts she had before… Thoughts she’d rather have left buried in her soul… in the past...
But nothing she did ever stop the dreams. The ideas. The Love.
Sudden tension could be felt around her as she spoke without thinking, “I both hate and love the fact that I fel-”
RING! RING! - RING! RING!
Nova flinched as she looked at the phone she had placed beside her from picking up and hugging the plush of her friend. She stared at the phone as it continued it’s chime, staring at the picture of her and Connor smiling together behind the numbers that said ‘6:01a.m.’. Nova’s fingers whipped to grab the phone and turned the alarm off, annoyance and sadness fresh and lingering in her mind.
Nova didn't want to move as she picked up a bittersweet feeling from only a momentary series of actions. Still holding onto the Connor plushie, she got up from the bed and laid it next to a heart-shaped box that lay on a desk within her room.
She reflexively wiped something from her eyes and retorted within her mind saying, 'Some pollen might be around the house today…’
With a small smile, she walked out of the room and into the hallway, leaving the Connor plushie to watch light slowly close behind her, eventually having the room in darkness.
It’s 2018 already and I need to draw something traditional so have some Starco kids and some added commentary from me because why not?!

Julia by @emichan252 - I love the creator as a person and her Starco kid too because the dynamic between Julia and her parents are so adorable and seems very happy go lucky! And plus, her cheekmarks are bears??? That’s super cute!
Nova by @mrevaunit42 & @marionette-j2x - Nova was one of the first Starco childrens I discovered and the one I absolutely adore to this very day! The story is awesome, all the added OCs are aesome and very diverse also I really like Rocky. Both the creators and the main artist of this AU are super duper nice and I can’t even believe they would consider me to their squad let alone as a friend.
Luna by @chibicmps - Infos about Luna progresses through asks and comics that Chibi makes but everytime I see the AU updating it sparks my interest even more! Luna’s wand is really cool too! Luna is absplutely adorable and I would like to know more about this AU so please keep updating Chibi!
Alexa by @mewangie - Alexa is one of the rare bunch of Starco kids that has brown eyes aside from mine coughPhoebecough. Her 2 colored cheekmarks is pretty unique and I love the comics Angie makes. Some of them are funny and some are interesting. The outfit designs for Alexa are tremendous too!

I love how this came out! I think I really improved on a couple things, but this is pretty much exactly how I wanted this to be!
I hope all of you beautiful people, followers or otherwise, who have been waiting for this enjoy this. I thank you, I appreciate you, and I love you. Without you, this wouldn’t exist.
But real hats off to @mrevaunit42, because without him, we all wouldn’t be waiting for my lazy butt to get to work on this. We all wouldn’t be part of a group of people who constantly yell “COVY” at one person. So for that, THANK YOU, MR. E.
