it's so funny to me as well that the entire us cultural diversity discourse started with some yank tweeting like "you europeans always think you're better but we won the most medals in the olympics", someone quote tweeted this saying that europe is not counted as one entity in that ranking (since yknow, it's a continent) but has more medals than the US if added up.

this immediately got people somehow misunderstanding it as "europe is more culturally diverse than the US" and arguing about that which literally wasn't even what that one european said

that's such a funny thing to argue about though. its like arguing because you think someone said a whale is bigger than a duck . and they didnt even say it
