This is something I was talking to my dad about and he said James Vowles said something about Logan along the lines of "he's got the talent but he's trying too hard/it's like performance anxiety. He's too nervous" and I feel like I know his reasoning for it if we look at it.
Logan is probably comparing himself to 3 people right now: his teammate and his 2 fellow rookie drivers this season.
Comparing himself to Alex is horrible because Alex has got about 4 more years of experience than Logan and when he started out he really wasn't too good. Alex has got much more experience in both F1 and Williams.
Comparing himself to Nyck de Vries is probably quite upsetting too seeing as Nyck got dropped. I remember being told that Nyck was always going to be dropped, Tauri were just waiting for McLaren's payment to Daniel ended before bringing him in (which makes me want to two-foot Marko). But still, comparing yourself to someone who was similar to you and got dropped isn't very well, good for him.
And finally, the last rookie, his best friend, recently got his first podium. HOWEVER, the McLaren is a much better car than the Williams, right now anyway. Logan probably though him and Oscar were at the same level before the upgrades (and i still think they're close in skill), but the McLaren is a McLaren.
I think Logan needs to trust himself more.
