12 --- a song from your preteen years
you know what i’m gonna put two songs i remember from my preteen years because i fucking can and you can all fight me
jack and diane by john mellencamp is the first one; i remember the first time my mom and dad played me this song and i just remember thinking like, “is this what is was like for my dad growing up in michigan?” and i asked him that and he just got this look in his eyes... i think i’ll remember this look for long as i live. hm.
a second one is totally rock dj by robbie williams. my mom bought his greatest hits cd one year and we’d just play that whole album when she’d drive me to school every morning. i can literally clearly remember singing the fuck out of that song on the drive it was just... sigh. one of my favourite memories growing up :)
