#DidYouKnow that all NYCT buses have stickers indicating the bus depot that they belong to? There are 29 bus depots to house the MTA’s fleet of 5,700 buses throughout the five boroughs. Eight of the depots serve MTA Bus, while the other 21 depots serve MTA New York City Transit Bus. MTA Bus is the result of a merger of 7 private bus companies and MTA New York City Transit Bus is comprised of all of the public bus routes within the city.
Most depots in the five boroughs house several bus routes each, and some routes belong to more than one depot. Which depot does your bus route belong to? Look for the sticker on your commute and let us know in the comments below!
