Old Glass, Soft Morning
The flower still carried the rain. The air smelled of leaves and silence. And somewhere between old glass and morning light, a tiny life paused long enough to become a memory.
Captured with a vintage Pentacon 100mm f/2.8 on a Canon R7 — proof that some lenses do not merely record the world, they soften it into feeling.
Not everything beautiful needs to be perfect to be remembered.
The Orion nebula (aka M42)
This is a very bright emission/reflection nebula in the Orion Nebula (situated just below the belt). In low light pollution areas, it can be visible with the naked eye (better with binoculars). The nebula's apparent size is about 1°, around twice the size of the full moon. Due to its size and brightness, it's one of the most photographed deep sky objects.
It was the first test of my new remote telescope rig, not completely satisfied with the result, especially the outer parts and core of the nebula. Weather was not the best (some high altitude clouds) and the system is not completely calibrated/installed (still waiting on some equipment). This led to the 300s sub exposure to be ok and the 30s, originally intended to help with the core, to be only usable for the stars.
(my image is taken using a CarbonStar 150/600 newtonian telescope with a 0.95 coma corrector, ZWO ASI294 monochrome camera and Baader 6.5nm Ha and OIII filter. 12x300s for the Ha filter, 12x300s for the OIII filter, plus some 30s images in both OIII and Ha for better stars, total imaging time of about 2h, stacking and processing done in PixInsight.)
Orion Nebula, n.d.
Eaurp and Slamtha do some amateur astronomy outside of Flugoz County during their first year of gooniversity (goo university). Eaurp is observing the Ulyp Nebula, known to humans as Messier 42.
Eaurp's telescope is a 140.8mm aperture f/8 Cassegrain-like design, with a sub-aperture correcting lens on the secondary mirror and before the eyepiece. It's resting on a home-made equatorial pipe mount.
The view on the upper right is roughly what Guz sees through the eyepiece. A human would see slightly differently.

space mostly canceled lately due to snow covering my shooting spot, but enjoy this 11-hour narrowband integration of the orion nebula.
600mm FL newtonian telescope at f/4 reduced 0.75x to f/3, ASI533MM pro. antlia 4.5nm SHO filters, ZWO RGB filters for stars
36x600" Sii
50x180" Ha
50x180" Oiii
10x45" each for RGB stars
