Hoo boy, fashion trends. Hmm.

Honestly? All of the comfiness and none of the fuss about 15-1600s European working-class women's clothing.

Cloaks for winter!

Bodices/kirtles that support your back and boobs instead of bras!

Flowy shifts!

Big pocketed, pleated skirts you can tuck up under a belt to keep out of the mud!

Waist pouches for all your random stuff instead of a purse (I actually just got myself a foraging apron since I'm constantly pulling over to the side of the road and picking berries and flowers and herbs, and I'm so in love with it)!

SO COMFY. And fun. I would dress like that all of the time if I had 1) the bravery and 2) the wallet to accommodate such a drastic shift in my wardrobe.

Books featuring non-humans:

I decided to start reading the Redwall books to my son this year, so let's go with those to start (Eulalia!)

I'm rereading The Left Hand of Darkness and it gets a much-deserved nod

I'd be betraying my younger nerd if I didn't include Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker series, especially So Long and Thanks for All the Fish

A Midsummer Night's Dream (I can pick a play, right? I'M PICKING A PLAY)

Smells:

petrichor and white cactus blossom just as a thunderstorm's starting to hit in the summer in New Mexico

my kiddo's freshly washed hair

the Muir Woods redwoods after a rain

sea-salt air on the Northern California coast

new rubber, ie the smell that hits you when you walk into a bike store (I know. The heart—or olfactory system—wants what it wants)

12. I’m not really a “stay in pajamas all day” kind of person. I prefer to get up, get dressed, and enjoy a nice breakfast to start each day. Doing this helps me maintain a feeling of normalcy and productivity.

24. Oh my goodness I LOVE this ask!!!! I have so many favorites and my snacks change almost daily. Right now, I am head over heels in love with my blender and the smoothies I can make with it! PLUS my loquat trees in the garden are just begging to be picked right now. These guys with some yogurt and spinach makes for an AMAZING smoothie snack!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Guys, I'm so fucking happy. This test is on the British system where it's nearly impossible to get a first (basically anything above an 80%). I got an 84 on my written and a 63 on my practical. I just need at least an 80 on my case studies (which I think is likely) and I'll get a distinction. I'm so fucking happy.
