A potential collector tracked me down and asked about my old Ridgewood paintings and if I had any left. Hard to believe these are 6 years old now. I found 8, including these 4. So precarious is the whole exercise that the paint seems to be clinging on for dear life. How did it even get there? And what an incoherent mess. Today a woman and her child walked along the path on the opposite hillside. She saw me, stopped short and told her child to look at the painter! I met her gaze and held it for a moment, then she began to wave hello, her hand rocking side to side wildly. As I waved back her face melted into a huge grin and so did mine. It was a small distraction and soon I was back to blobbing paint on clumps of color.
