I usually don't like taking politics here, on Instagram, especially after the election but I post this for many reasons. First off, of you want more political stuff, go check out my Twitter and my Tumblr. Also, this front page of the @nydailynews is reminiscent of the front page in 1975 where then president Ford vowed to veto any bailout for NYC which was in dire straits at the time. This is almost like that but in a bigger scale, the world is turning to President Trump for guidance but all we get is arrogance, cowardice, stupidity, and failure. He truly failed America and he world by pulling out of the #parisaccord. He has shown that he is willing to go against his country and the world overall to satisfy his own ego. He promised by doing this that he will bring back the coal jobs and a plethora of factory jobs. When we all know that coal mining and use is rapidly decreasing all over the world because coal is not economical. It to mention hazardous to our health. Also those jobs that we shipped overseas are now being done by automation. No corporation is going to pay $20/hr for a worker to do a menial job in the USA when a machine anywhere can do it for a few drops of oil and routine bi-monthly maintenance. So there goes that reason. What also bugs me is that people who were impacted by climate change and will continue to be impacted, like my neighbors in the Rockaways as well as people in the Jersey shore and Staten Island voted for this moron who says that Climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese, an obvious lie. Congrats, you trump voters played yourselves. Many of his policies are gonna hurt you most of all. It pains me, as someone who worked on environmental campaigns when I was in #NYPIRG in college. I was ecstatic when Obama signed onto the Paris accord in 2015. It's heartbreaking to see President Trump undo that historic accomplishment. Alas there is hope. Seeing Trump's lack of leadership, many governors and mayors including @nycmayor have signed onto the Paris Agreement Even corporations have signed on to reduce their carbon footprint. (Big corporations being good guys, who knew?) (CONTINUED IN COMMENTS 👇🏾!) (at Rockaway Beach, Queens)
