the automated phone system at the NY State dept of labor can drive someone to poke their eyeballs out. i’ve been trapped in automated phone system hell for over 30 minutes. i’ve been hung up on by that same automated phone system when they said they’ve been experiencing technical difficulties. i’ve tried to schedule a call back since they say they’re so busy and all of the time slots are full. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!! where are the human being? Why does the US govt waste their time with water boarding? why not just play this automated phone system on loop. there is no one on the planet that can tolerate this. i’ve already broke 7 times and now it’s a competition and dammit someone is going to answer my fucking questions. all i’m trying to do is collect my benefits the right way. most people would’ve said fuck it and hung up by now. this is absolutely more torturous than not having a job. holy fuck......45 minutes and this guys voice is driving me nuts. dude i know i can go online, if i could go online i wouldn’t be putting myself through this fucking agony. are you kidding me. i’ve pressed like 7 million numbers.....and here comes the technical difficulties message again....YOU SUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!

The New York State Department of Labor today released preliminary local area unemployment rates for June 2015.

The state’s private sector job count increased by 173,500 from June 2014 to June 2015. In June 2015, the number of private sector jobs in the state was 7,804,200, an all-time high. The state’s private sector job count is based on a payroll survey of 18,000 New York employers conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In addition, between May and June 2015, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased from 5.7% to 5.5% in June 2015, its lowest level since July 2008.

Governor Cuomo Announces Over $291,000 Returned to 462 Bus Workers

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that $291,734.34 in wages has been returned to 462 workers at Durham Bus locations throughout New York State as the result of an investigation by the New York State Department of Labor Division of Worker Protection.

“This administration remains committed to cracking down on wage theft in all its forms and ensuring that workers receive a true day's pay for an honest day's work," Governor Cuomo said. "We will continue to make sure businesses follow the law and keep money in the pockets of those hardworking New Yorkers who earned it."

State Unemployment Rate Remains at 6½ Year Low

The statewide unemployment rate in New York remained unchanged at 5.7% in April 2015, its lowest level since August 2008, according to preliminary figures released today by the New York State Department of Labor. New York City’s unemployment rate decreased over the month from 6.6% to 6.5%.
