he’s been looking forward to this week ever since georgie sent him a text and said she’d be in the city during the holidays.  steve was a bit of a fanatic when it came to this time of year and he planned to show her everything nyc had to offer.  

tapping lightly on her hotel room door, he smiles as soon as it’s opened.  “hey! god, i’m so glad to see you!” he greets warmly and gives her a quick hug.  he’s quite the affectionate type. “did you have a good flight?” stepping in, he smiles as his eyes wander over her.  she looks lovely as always.  “so it’s pretty cold out.  hope you brought warmer clothes than that!” his tone teasing.  “we’ve got a lot of walking to do today!”

As his gaze met her phase, he pushed a phrase to engage, but it decayed from delayed confidence, relayed an obvious anxiety, so she kissed him on the cheek to give some sobriety, then whispered, “Rely on me”, surprisingly taking control of their stroll, letting time unfold until the night grew old, into day, guiding them her way but when it came to a kiss good-bye, he was still shy to supply, later wondering, “Why?”, thinking on how another moment passed him by..

SHE’S HONESTLY NOT SURE  if she’s in a dream or reality at the moment.  it  seems  like reality,  as they lay in bed,  georgie wrapped up in penny’s arms where she belongs...  but then,  it sounds like georgie had just asked her to...  to  marry  her.  penny really can’t be sure she’d heard that right.

eyes flicker to her lover’s,  gentle gaze pouring into hers.  “ what? ”  she asks softly,  needs to know that this is,  in fact,  REAL.  but the word comes out before she can stop herself,  tears welling up in the corners of her eyes and face a dark shade of red.  “ yes. ”
