I need to flesh out the pantheon in my homebrewish, ADOM-based, Ancardia setting. I'm not even 100% sure where that name "Ancardia" came from for the setting, since I'm sure it's not an original thing to ADOM (because what is! XD).
Now we come to the first depiction of a deity in the Night Sphere--in most fantasy IPs, these would be the "Bad Gods" even if the creators claim they aren't inherently evil (despite making them embody outright nasty stuff in the outright negative way). Because darkness and dark color = bad. Nothing unsettling and real-life seeping into peoples' conceptions of fantasy worlds here, no sir. Definitely not something insidious in the subconscious bleeding through! /s
So yeah. Nyya, the God of Fear, Pain, and Trial, is the first member of the Night Sphere of divine influence to show in this series. His actions and avatars in the physical plane of Ancardia are many--he is the Shepherd and the Harbinger of Emotion, the prophetic nightmare, the Black Dog in your periphery the hour before disaster. Despite a number of Surface-dwelling cultures giving him only a surface-level acknowledgement and often negatively mischaracterizing him (out of terror, no less), he is benevolent in his presence, and these aspects of his appearances are the focus of worship and veneration in most of the Underground cultures. Nyya's symbols are a drop of blood, a black cloud, and a black horse.
