beautiful blend of aromatic whites. Te whare ra “toru” (toru meaning three in maori” combines effortlessly the spice and cream of gewurztraminer, adding the slight flint of riesling, and not to over-sweeten, but rather to bring in a slight acidic apricot back bone, pinot gris. biodynamic as well as hypoallergenic and organic. This is definately one of my favourite wines. te whare ra estate situated in marlborough so it receives a balanced amount of sunlight, and being situated around mountains, as the night cools, the heat stays in the valley creating a perfect little meso-climate to slowly cool the grapes, as to not upset and over work the natural sugars produced by the grapes. overall flavour profile is off dry, medium body with a clean and crisp finish. underlying acidity is brought foward close to the end of the palate and helps to close off the whole mouthfeel without allowing the natural sugars to over power the flintyness also bought in by the riesling grapes. after discount 22.50 a bottle. cant go wrong at all. actually far too much going right with this beautiful number.
