Bloodywood - Machi Bhasad 2022

Bloodywood is an Indian metal band from New Delhi, formed in 2016. Their style is primarily described as nu metal but also includes elements of folk metal and metalcore. They began as a parody band that uploaded metal covers of pop songs on Youtube and later wrote their own music.

Rakshak ("Protector") is their debut studio album, independently released on 18 February 2022. The album's music is a blend of Indian folk music and heavy metal, while the lyrics are sung in the English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. The album entered the Billboard charts, making Bloodywood the first Indian metal band to achieve such an accomplishment. The album has been successful on Bandcamp as well, where it topped the album sales of the platform upon release, ranked (as of early March 2022) as the 22nd all-time best-selling new release and as 3rd best-selling metal release.

"Machi Bhasad" ("Expect a Riot"), released in April 2019, was originally composed for the game Beyond Good and Evil 2, but was ultimately rejected. Intended as a call to action to fight injustice, the song was released just as the band revealed 2019 European tour dates.

Lubalin - Internet Drama part 2 (She Stole My Broccoli) 2020

Lubalin is a Canadian singer, musician, and video producer from Montreal, Quebec. He was initially a R&B/pop musician before his production of humorous videos attracted wider attention. His 2020 series of internet drama videos attracted over 5 million followers and over 200 million views, and got him invited on to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show. Lubalin is signed with record label Cult Nation. He also worked as a producer and songwriting collaborator on labelmate Charlotte Cardin's 2023 album 99 Nights, for which he was a dual Juno Award nominee for Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2024.

In the first video in his internet drama series, he took an old screenshot shared to the OldPeopleFacebook subreddit and morphed it into a moody (and suddenly very dramatic) two-person ballad. In the screenshot turned song, an inquiry for a home rental quickly spirals into confusion and threats to contact the attorney general. "That whole week was kind of, can you do it again or was this a fluke?" said Lubalin. "And then I did it again." In his second TikTok in the series, which Lubalin said was inspired by the 1980s sound of the Weeknd, he made an electronica dance track featuring a woman complaining that her broccoli casserole recipe had been stolen by another and passed off as her own. That song has been seen even more times than the first.

As for the woman angry over the broccoli casserole recipe, it doesn't appear she is actually a real person. A 37-year-old elementary school teacher in Texas was role-playing as Helen Hywater in the Facebook group "A group where we all pretend to be boomers" back in March 2020 when she posted the broccoli status and began interacting with Doris, who she said was another role-player. She said that after going viral their accounts were subsequently suspended for pretending to be other people.

Philadelphia is a 1993 American legal drama film starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Filmed on location in its namesake city, it tells the story of attorney Andrew Beckett (Hanks) who comes to ask a personal injury attorney, Joe Miller (Washington), to help him sue his former law firm, who fired him after discovering he was gay and that he had AIDS. Philadelphia is one of the first mainstream Hollywood films not only to explicitly address HIV/AIDS and homophobia, but also to portray gay people in a positive light. It premiered in Los Angeles on December 14, 1993 in a benefit for the AIDS Project. It grossed $206.7 million worldwide, becoming the 9th highest-grossing film of 1993. 2NE1 - I Am the Best 2011

2NE1 is a South Korean girl group formed in 2009. Known for their musical experimentation, fashion, and stage presence, they are a leading figure of the Korean Wave and among the most influential K-pop girl groups of all time. They are recognized for expanding girl group styles in the Korean music industry, which in turn broke stereotypes of K-pop.

"I Am the Best" was released for digital download and streaming as the third single from the group's self-titled second EP on June 24, 2011. Written and produced by Teddy Park, "I Am the Best" is an electro house and electropop track that integrates hip hop and Middle Eastern elements through its instrumentation. Its lyrics contain themes of self-confidence and narcissism.

Music journalists praised the production and 2NE1's performance and considered it a pioneer of the Korean wave and K-pop's "girl crush" concept, which denotes themes of ferocity and female empowerment. Many publications ranked it among the best K-pop songs of the decade and all time. It peaked at number one on the South Korean Gaon Digital Chart and was the fourth-best-selling single of 2011 in South Korea, with more than 3.4 million downloads sold. George Michael - Outside 1998

"Outside" is a song by the English singer-songwriter George Michael, released on 19 October 1998 as the lead single from his first greatest hits album, Ladies & Gentlemen: The Best of George Michael (1998). It reached number two on the UK Singles Chart, becoming Michael's most recent UK top-three hit. In Greece, Hungary, and Spain, the song peaked at number one, number three in Italy, number four in Denmark, number five in Iceland, number seven in Ireland, and number eight in Finland. It reached number three on the Eurochart Hot 100 and the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, number 11 in New Zealand, and number 13 in Australia.

"Outside" was Michael's first single since his arrest for engaging in a lewd act six months earlier, in April 1998, by an undercover police officer in the public toilet of the Will Rogers Memorial Park in Beverly Hills, California – an incident that prompted him to declare his homosexuality, which had been rumoured for some years but never publicly confirmed. He was sentenced to 80 hours of community service for the offence.

The satirical music video shows couples engaging in lewd public activities while Michael, dressed as a police officer, dances in a public toilet. Before the song starts properly, the video begins with a parody of a 1970s European pornography film with a short passage of narration in Swedish. Marcelo Rodriguez, the undercover officer who had arrested Michael, claimed the video "mocked" him and filed a legal suit for $10 million. While the matter was initially dismissed, the California Courts of Appeal reinstated the case on 3 December 2002. The judgement ruled that Rodriguez, as a public official, could not legally recover damages for emotional distress.
