“What? Is there something on my face? Because you’re 100% staring right now.” Thea pointed out.

“What? Is there something on my face? Because you’re 100% staring right now.” Thea pointed out.
“I wouldn’t drink that if I were you,” Miguel said, sliding into the seat beside them. “I just saw the bartender spit in your drink.”
“So I managed to survive a whole week of seeing my mother in Chicago without throwing her off a high-rise and sure I’m glad to be back but there are considerably less pokemon here and I’m not really about that.”
Gale was sitting at the bar, quietly eating his burger before his shift started. People kept coming over to ask a question or to order something and Gale was slowly losing his patience. Do I need a fucking sign? I’m going to stab the next person who comes near me. He turned snappy with every customer that came around to ask for a drink or a menu. He still had fifteen minutes before his shift started and he’s going to milk those fifteen minutes for all they’re worth. He was just licking his fingers clean of grease when he saw someone walk up to him on his peripheral.
“Listen,” he said, dragging the words out and not even turning around to look at whoever it is. “Yes, I know I’m a waiter but the fact that I’m not waiting on anyone should’ve clued you in. But since that’s not clear enough for you then let me say this: I’m not on duty yet. So unless you’re here for a 10-minute quickie out back, kindly fuck off and find someone else.”
“Okay, so I’ve been here a few months and I’ve settled in ...somewhat,” Reid began before he paused for a moment. “Now, I have to ask, what are the best places for hikes here in Oakhaven?”
"─have you seen a little white dog around running around here? She’s wearing a blue collar and is like nine inches tall, maybe ten at the most, responds to the name Blue? Some assholes decided it would be funny to set off fireworks a few feet away from me and she slipped off her leash and I can’t find her anywhere in this damn park.”
“But that’s not how it works,” Miguel shouted on the phone, though the sound that greeted him was not the usual spew of profanities, but a high pitched ding. He drew the phone from his ear, cursing at the sight of it dying. “No, no no,” he whined, turning towards the nearest person to his left. “Hey,” he called, “lemme borrow your phone.”
Rebecca hummed quietly as she wandered toward the nearby table, shrugging her overall sleeves off her arms as she went. “And that’s done and that...” She muttered to herself as she stooped over the nearby table to place several notes on the spreadsheet for the truck she was currently working on. “So then I...” She added in a whisper as she pushed her overall down to her waist. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed something and stood up straight once more, a smile spreading across her face. “Well hey you. Need anything special?”
