The first really big north shore style skinny across a creek. It’s about 10 to 12 inches wide at the top and probably 3 to 4’ drop to the creek bed. I spent some time clearing logs, brush, and defining the trail but there’s still more work to do. The short bridges up to the crossing are coming soon. Oak Openings Metropark (Swanton, OH)

The newly opened trail head at 3520 Waterville-Swanton Rd in Swanton, Ohio is pretty awesome. The low rail on the right was made from donor bicycles and the building on the left has restrooms with showers. The long term goal for the area is a pump track for kids, short green and blue training trails for all ages, an indoor skills area and TREE HOUSES. They’re currently building the tree houses and they’re massive. The new trails are being designed by a company that has done all kinds of Redbull-level facilities. Local shops and @the_right_direction had direct input as well. This place is going to be amazing when it’s done but it couldn’t have gotten off the ground without the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of work to build the Oaks trail. I’m very proud to be part of that group.
