Hi guys! How's it going?🙂. . Another week, another Friday, but not just any Friday. Today is the first day out of isolation! It's so refreshing. I really hope this pandemic will go away completely very soon so we can all go back to our normal lives 🙂. . So to celebrate the first day out of isolation, I'm poping the cork off this lovely Oban 14yo. Oban 14 is an elegant, classic malt single, which comes from the west of the Highland region. The expressive character and the rich aromatic palette, dominated by fruits, outline a rather complex personality for this whisky. The bouquet perfectly reflects the refined spirit of the Oban distillery, and the slightly salty notes give it a fresh air, balancing it. The expression can be enjoyed simply, with ice or with a drop of water, which opens up rich fruit aromas. . Here is my review:. . Nose: Sweet notes of caramel pudding, vanilla and cocoa powder, complemented by woody accents. A drop of water highlights the aromas of apples and juicy pears. . Palate: Intense aromas of homemade chocolate, cocoa powder, dried fruit, pears and apples. . Finish: Persistent, dominated by notes of walnuts, chocolate, lemon peel and a pinch of salt. . Color: Amber, with golden reflections. . This is a great scotch whisky, one of my favorites. . How is your weekend shaping up? What's in your glass? .
