OBEY ME DEVILDOM
*I've always wanted to write about little Fluffy segments on the side about how MC felt in a new place like the Devildom with all these people she should be afraid of but finds an odd sense of belonging.
So this is my small take on it.*
The Angels of the Celestial Realm...
"Thou shall not be denied..."
"Luke, I beleive you may be overdoing it." Simeon smiled fondly at his underling, watching as the cherub-like angel stirred the cake batter with the wooden spoon.
Luke's tongue was poking out as he concentrated, not once looking up as I walked in to the room alongside Solomon.
"That looks complicated." I murmured wonderingly, especially as I watched how he poured it slowly on to the baking paper. He piled it higher then any normal cake was supposed to be.
Both angels smiled as they finally noticed I was there.
"So glad you could join us." Simeon smiled at me, definitely a welcome sight compared to their counterparts. "If you stay a little while longer, you can try some of Luke's cake."
My mouth watered with just the thought of it.
"I really shouldn't..."
"But you must." Luke pleaded after he'd safely placed the cake in to the oven.
"I really would love to hear your opinion of it."
He looked rather determined to keep me there whether I wanted to stay or not.
So I gave in very easily.
If just for Luke.
"I guess I could stay a bit longer, but I have to be back at the House of Lamentation before it gets dark. I don't feel like being eaten tonight."
"Not to worry." Solomon said cheerfully. "I'll escort you home when you're ready."
If only I didn't have to leave.
This place felt more like home then the House of Lamentation ever did.
"So how are the brothers treating you?" Simeon asked as we moved from the kitchen counter to the table in the dining room. He held the chair out for me as I went to sit down.
"I wouldn't be surprised if one of them hasn't already tried to eat you yet." Luke said with disdain, his cheeks flushed with anger.
My silence was answer enough for all of them, as they stared at me with sympathy.
"I wouldn't worry about that too much. Things will get better as time moves along."
Simeon was always so easy going about things, Luke not so much.
"I don't know why we're having to be here amongst these demons anyway, they're no good and angels have no business being here." Then looking at me, he added apologetically. "And you too of course, you shouldn't have to stay in that house with all those no good demon brothers."
If they weren't so hostile and a lot more welcoming like the exchange students, then my stay in the Devildom would be a lot more enjoyable.
But apparently fate had other plans for me.
Just then my D.D.D began chirping, letting me know I had an incoming message.
Not too sure who that could be, I pulled the device out of my pocket and saw that it was Barbatos trying to get a hold of me.
Lord Diavolo and I would like to speak with you if it isn't an inconvenience.
After reading the message, I glanced back up to see three pairs of curious eyes looking at me expectantly.
"Who is it?" Simeon asked rather amused.
"It's Barbatos, apparently Lord Diavolo want to talk to me."
"I think maybe you should go." Simeon mused.
Agreeing wholeheartedly, I looked back down at my D.D.D to tap in my reply.
Not an inconvenience at all. Where should I meet with you?
My device chirped again, the response rather quick and punctual.
We await your presence at the Academy.
Which meant I had to walk all the way back there again.
"They want me to go back to the Academy."
"I'll walk with you then." Solomon announced, putting my mind at ease.
That decided, I stood up to leave.
"I apologize for the sudden departure, I was looking forward to trying some of your cake too." I could smell it baking away in the oven, almost tempting me to wait a bit longer.
"That's alright, I'll put some aside for you for next time." Luke promised, his face so earnest.
His childlike innocence gave me hope that not everyone was self-centered.
"Thank you, Luke. I really appreciate it."
With a wave, I followed Solomon out the door.
