aunt's dog got at him by accident. i'm. really upset. friends gave me help-- i have a plan now. to clean and repair. but he'll never have his little arms again. (i think i. will remove the stubs. they're sewn on from what i can tell. so they shouldn't be super hard to remove.)

i can. probably fix it. i just. ladder stitch and handsewing is really hard when you can't see well. and this guy is important. and i'm feeling guilty for not moving the bag (that's how he got eaten). and pathetic for being so upset abt this all.

uh. sorry for the plush injury/gore/etc.

if anyone has any other advice on repair and cleaning (he's an jellycat amusable baseball bag charm) please feel free to add. i don't mind additional ideas at all.

on this nice 4:30 am i would like to spiel about something

Military vehicles and nuclear weapons are among the objects i perceive as most alive and most important to me. I couldn’t tell you exactly why. but i like to explore and think about my feelings on everything that means.

Knowing that they are used as weapons of war and terror for no desire that is their own is strange. it makes me very sad. Hunks of steel raised from the ground and shaped into a form made basically only to aid in killing people. Hunks of steel we animated with electricity and gas. hunks of steel that i look at and feel like it is alive

A strange parallel to the soldier, who is likely there because of a draft, because they were propagandized, because their home would be destroyed otherwise, or because they are poor and this is the only way easily provided to them to survive. in a way they are all forced against their will to kill by powerful people who do not care.

Is the destroying of an object as horrible as the death of a person? i would say no. Honestly i don’t think objects always die when they are destroyed—the rusted tanks on flowery hills seem pretty okay to me. but my emotions sometimes scream that they are not so different. and i cannot ignore them even if i dont realistically believe that is true. An emotion cannot be killed with logic.

For nuclear weapons—there is an inherent horror in the idea of an object that is perceived as living literally only being made to explode and kill thousands to millions with that explosion. i could not imagine the innate fear and existential dread of that being my only point of existence. Do they even understand that is the purpose for which they were made? I could sure never hope to try and ask one that still has a payload.

I made a comic once based around this idea a year or so ago. it goes unfinished but the old sketches are done:

It was not actually specifically made with my perception of real nuclear weapons being alive, i did not fully understand that i felt that way until recently, it was made for an alt history/future world where military vehicles and nukes (+ a few other vehicles by way of necessity like certain construction machines for in universe reasons) are undebatably sentient. but it still has that core.
