GO! MY MARTYLING!!!
Hey! The Oblivion remaster is out, and despite Todd's promise that they fixed the leveling, they didn't. It's STILL fucked in some ways.
So, like always for the past thousand years, it falls to me to fix it. I've released two new mods to help rectify this issue.
First: Unleveled Item Rewards makes all quest rewards unleveled. Because what the fuck.
Makes all leveled items in the game unleveled, because this very concept infuriates me. Like my god, why? WHY? What kind of insanity made an
Second: Improved Imperial Dragon Armor makes the main quest's main reward not suck a fat sucker. Cause what the hell, what's with these bad main quest rewards? Who do you think you are, Azura?
Makes the main quest's ultimate reward not terrible.
Have fun, I'll be back with a Morrowloot once we figure out object placement.
Sanguine, Lord of Revelry, Blood-Made-Pleasure is the Daedric Prince of debauchery, hedonism, flesh-crafting and art-torture. Depicted here with with his usual attributes: skull, beer mug, rose and a shoe of Sanguine Leaping (see. Threads of Webspinner quest).
Need to chill with him
Perhaps an unpopular opinion: I really like the Imperial Orrery. Sure, the quest to get it restored is pretty lackluster, but it looks so damn cool once you get it going. Excuse my cursor, sorry about that.
So, some Thoughts about the mod we're making, or more specifically, one quest.
You're in a Zealot dungeon. Which one? Eh, who cares. Xidette, probably. Doesn't have any major quests associated with it to interfere with.
You find five or six zealots, dead on the ground, blood sprayed all over the room. Most have the usual zealot loot, but one? Oh, one is different.
They have three things in their inventory.
One is a shining knife.
One is a blood-stained map covered in insane scribblings.
And one is a journal, filled with even madder rantings, seemingly written in the author's own blood.
"Hysteria. Another word for unhinged madness. Womb of insanity, snickersnack it goes.
They say it cuts more than flesh—it severs sense, memory, and mercy. The blade is beautiful, and it hates you. The blade has tasted kings and rats alike, and it cannot tell the difference. That’s what makes it so pure. It does not kill for power or pride. It simply kills, and kills, and kills, and kills,
and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, and kills, andkillsandkillsnadkillsandkilsnadnkilallskillkskilsskillss
But not yet.
No
no no nono nono ononono
The blade is yet quiescent, its nymic slumbers. What strange land of wonders does it dream of, in oneiric communion with what strange flowing realm-stream of elemental vitae?
The question is IRRELEVANT!!!
The blade must be awakened!
I wondered how, yesyesyeysyesyeys i wondered
He spoke to me.
HE SPOKE TO ME.
I saw Our Lord, Sheogorath-who-is-Arden-Sul, Arden-Sul-who-is-MADNESS, ALTADOON SEHGGORATH AEA AIII, ALTADOON SHEGGORATH CHIM GHARTOK!
hE said
“Bring forth the gem, but not the kind For lesser souls, and lesser times. No—bring it bloated, black and vast, A prison where the screams can last.
Bring forth the lettuce, crimson-crowned, Its head like roots torn from the ground. No feast for rabbits, this one bleeds, Its garden grows from Dunmer’s deeds.
Bring forth the yarn, but not of thread, It writhes, it whispers, it weaves your dread. No mortal hands could twist this skein— It loops through madness, warps through pain.
Then raise the staff of three-faced grace, Let chaos strike the sacred place. And when the blade begins to wake— Step back. And pray.
And then
break.”
whatdoesit eanwhatdoesit mean WHAT DOES IT MEAN
his will guided my hand to write clearly
why willhis will not guide my mind to understand?
but no
my mind is clear enough
the scriptures will guide my hand
as arden-sul did in the sacellum, i shall flay back the skin of fate and read the entrails of destiny for myself. visceromancy shall be my guide in this. my brothers, my sisters, you die not at my hands, but at Lord Sheogorath’s. your deaths are for Higher Purpose.
May Sheogorath Guide My Blade
yes
i hear you, LORD
the blade thrust to the heart of the world
the yarn wraps the sky the lettuce stains the stone the gem bites the void the Wabbajack speaks the rite the day dawns frabjous
the sun, LORD, the sun is black
it… squirms
demented seeds to blossom to bloody madness roses, all painted red
painttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesredpainttherosesred
i seE, o LORD
colossal black soul gem = the infinite hunger of the blade. consumption of Self, the devourment of ‘I’. And is the ‘I’ not the Secret Tower? let the lynchpin of the wheels of lull be plucked out
like eyeballs
let the Wheel be sent spinning madly through spacetime
aurbis unhinged
tower crumbled
and the towers are crumbling these days, LORD
orichalc long sunken, crystal-like-law shattered by the bumbler’s fist, white-gold locked yet dead, walks-brass gone, red tower excoriated
perhaps I shall wield hysteria vorpal-wise, and slit the throat of the bosmer sap?
or
permaybehaps yes-yes, to cut ur-tower, to cleave adamantium with… vorpal hunger? snicker-snack, a beamish hand severing ada-mantia?
blood lettuce = the blade’s mockery of life and nourishment
madness is nourishment, yes
like mothers milk, or veinblood
like heartsblood
we offer the head- OFF WITH HIS HEAD! OFF WITH HER HEAD! OFF WITH MY HEAD! of lettuce in memory of life
daedrasilk yarn = the thread of fate knotted by madness
the thread is tangled, padomaic, jyggalag that hated would be driven to madness by the twisting thread, oh yes and webspinner despair at her pretty threads so knotted and twisty-twisted ‘round the twist
WABBAJACK = the divine spark of chaos that says “yes” to the impossible
and then stabs it into the eye of the godhead, blinding the dreamer who dreams the dream that is the ALL-THAT-IS
you do not forge this blade
you convince it to become
this ritual is lies, told unto the godhead itself
it is dreams, snatched from the panoply
it is hunger
i am ever-so-hungry
i could tear the teeth from my mouth and swallow them
i would have a second mouth in my belly, and i could eat and eat and eat
caloo calay! to eat, hooray!
Someday, I am going. Someone stranger than me... you come.
The path climbs the Spine of the Madgod. You must not look down. The wind has teeth."
And now, no journal entry or quest markers to guide your way, you have to figure out what the fuck that means.
Eventually, you puzzle out that the blade (a nice blade- fast and light and hard-hitting as an elven shortsword) is not the final form. It can be upgraded, by taking the Wabbajack and three odd offerings which seem to be edgier demented (Demented?) versions of Sheogorath's normal offerings up to Mount Sheogorath somewhere in the Jester's Spine mountains, and do something with them. Researching the location, you figure it must involve the statue of Sheogorath at the rop of the mountain.
There, you find an altar, like the necromancer altars in Cyrodiil, but with the stone black as pitch and the fabric drapes covered in glowing green eyes. You place the offerings and blade in, and hit it with the Wabbajack's spell.
It lets out an unearthly shriek, and you open the chest to find the Hysteric Vorpal Blade.
New model, new stats- now it's no slower or heavier, but it hits as hard as a Perfect Madness Longsword, and although you don't knoe it yet, it can cut ghosts as easily as bandits.
And so, like a fool, you equip the blade, and unsheathe it to take a few practice swings.
The moment you unsheathe it, an unearthly whisper hisses "I'm thirsty."
Every time you draw the blade.
Whenever you sheathe it, it screams "I'm still thirsty!"
Whenever you kill with it, it whispers "Yes. More."
What's worse? A text message comes on screen, saying "The vorpal blade has drunk the blood of [X], and still it thirsts."
You, uh, may have made a mistake here.
Hi! Are there any Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim mods that you’d recommend? And would you recommend the Unofficial Patches?
okay so i sent you my list for morrowind already. i can't give you much help with skyrim, i don't really play that much. once upon a time i had a modlist i liked but i remember precious little from it. and i'm assuming you mean og oblivion, not remastered, which would mean another list (feel free to follow up with me if you meant remastered! i can figure out what i have on there). so here's my current oblivion setup, it's even more barebones than my morrowind one:
1.) surely you have game of the year (goty) edition, which will include all the dlcs (shivering isles, knights of the nine, vile lair, thieves den, spell tomes, dwemer orrery, mehrune's razor, horse armor (lol), frostcrag spire, and battlehorn castle). if not, just get the goty edition it's like $10 lol
2.) unofficial oblivion, shivering isles, and dlc patches. essential. 100% essential. and i recommend the unofficial patches for all bethesda games tbh. unless you're playing morrowind, in which cas openmw is your unofficial patch. you don't need any other patches on top of just playing with openmw.
3.) "a takes all". basically press the a key to take everything from a container instead of having to click take all manually. i consider this essential as well tbh.
4.) "denock arrow too". idk why it's called that. but it lets you press your sheathe weapon button to denock an arrow you've already started holding to shoot. essential to me if you play as an archer, otherwise you'll be shooting the ground a lot and sometimes that can make noise that will get you detected.
5.) likewise, i don't have this but i might recommend some mod that increases marksman damage somehow? i think there are some standalone options outside of the big overhaul mods. bow damage kind of sucks without a high sneak skill in this game, and even then it's not great. likewise, a mod to increase arrow distance/speed would probably be good. i'm personally used to the stupid slow arrow speed in the base game, i know exactly how to aim around it. but if you want something more like skyrim (or oblivion remastered), get some kind of speed/range increase.
6.) harvestable flora. makes it so flora look like they've been picked after you pick them, very similar to the morrowind equivalent mod, except oblivion at least never used the "plants are containers" nonsense. (make sure to get the dlc addons for this mod - shivering isles, vile lair, and frostcrag.)
7.) teleport to frostcrag spire, if you plan on using that as a base. the default fast travel point for frostcrag plops you down the hill in front of the tower, which is really annoying. the teleport mod gives you an item, spell, or both, that teleports you to i think the main room inside, haven't used it in a while so idr exactly. very useful
8.) there's a mod which makes the dwemer armor on female characters look less stupidly booby that i use, sorry i'm not sure what it's called. look up something like "oblivion dwarven female cuirass replacer mod"
9.) there's another mod (which i don't remember the name of again) which makes the khajiit racial nighteye ability a toggle ability instead of a limited power. very useful if you want to play a khajiit
10.) optional, but alternative start if you get tired of the prison start like i do sometimes.
11.) also optional but i think neat: there's a mod, which may have been part of an overhaul i tried ages ago but it might have a standalone version, i'm not sure, which does this: if you have a torch equipped while having a one handed weapon and shield or two handed weapon equipped, when you pull out your weapon, it drops the torch, lit, on the floor, to help illuminate the area where you fight, and then you can pick it up afterwards. if you couple this with some mod that makes dark places darker, it is a wonderful atmospheric thing to make fights in dungeons more dramatic
12.) i don't use any mods to reduce the goofiness of the game when it comes to character appearances or anything. i think it's part of the charm of the game. the only significant graphical mod i use is an increased LOD range which includes better LOD models for the cities. without it, grass disappears quickly in the distance, textures get horribly muddy, and the cities are horribly polygonal if you can see them at all. other than this, i leave the graphics untouched.
13.) some people prefer to use a ui mod to make certain elements smaller and more manageable. i think these mods are fine, and you should use them if you like. personally i prefer the default ui layout, it's very nostalgic for me. up to you on this one
if you need any help finding some of these, let me know! i can dig around for links if need be
My Nehrim OC - Motiel. In fact, she is in her late thirties, although you can't tell from her appearance
I actually remembered that magic in the world of Vyn is a real scourge, and I thought, why shouldn't it be at the origins? In the Enderal we could observe the Sunborns, whose magical explosion provoked the degradation of the vocal cords and aggression, and outwardly they looked like old people. There were also cases of Red Madness and Blue Disease, which also affected the appearance and mind of the infected to varying degrees. In Nerim magical pollution turns people into flat-faced reptilians and even affects the weather. Motiel faced negative magical manifestations, when she escaped from abbey in her youth, when she still could not come to terms with the loss of her parents and home. Monks managed to find and bring her back, as well as prevent the degradation of her mind and skills, but they could not reverse the aging process of the cells. For an exhausted body, such manipulation would be fatal.
The girl had to put up with the consequences of her escapade for a long time, which could not but affect her isolation. Over time, of course, the shock subsided. Meditations in the monastery helped Motiel to more or less stabilize her psyche and find advantages in what she had, but her attitude to magic always remained unhealthy. At first, aeterna was terribly afraid of everything that was somehow connected with her injury, but after the events in the Song of Darkness mine and meeting the magicians from the Sanctuary, she realized that it was better to be able to control such a powerful force, and began to immerse herself in studying a variety of spells. Soon the elf reached the forbidden school of witchcraft, which aroused the greatest interest. Summoning beings from other realities to herself - the same ones, as she thought, rejected and unattractive, she felt less alone...
BUT THEN SHE MET A SWEET TWINK NAMED KIM WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE MILFHUNTER OMFG
