When Vance begins receiving anonymous poems from Bruce, he doesn't think they are meant for him. After all, his reputation is rather poor, and he doesn’t consider himself “charming” enough to be someone’s crush

They probably get to places and get very specific. Sort of scary specific. The poems talk about his eyes, his curls, sometimes even about his clothes. And they start appearing on the pinball machine. So he assumes it’s a joke, a prank even. And he swears to beat the living crap of whoever is trying to make fun of him.
