Some thoughts on Pidge’s crush

I’ve been thinking about Pidge and how she’s like, hyper-rational and still deeply emotional. The explosive way her feelings get expressed makes me think she’s one of those people who doesn’t have total access/a good understanding of her emotions.

There are a lot of fics and headcanons and metas about Pidge pining quietly for Lance. But consider this:

Does Pidge know she’s pining?

It really wouldn’t surprise me if she had feelings for Lance building up over a long time but since crushes and romance aren’t really at the forefront of her brain, the idea that she likes Lance romantically wouldn’t even occur to her. She’s fifteen through most of the series and still new to the adult world and adult emotions. It’s entirely possible that Pidge has had no idea that she’s been getting jealous over Lance this whole time.
