But Lena’s hands are dancing there-away along her cheeks, her jaw, Kara’s own name sounding from her lips over and over, a siren song, calling her home. It’s raining now, wet spots peppering her brow, or maybe the sun is crying.

“Kara, Kara,” Lena is saying. It sounds like her heartbeat and she cannot bear for it to stop.

this is hella angsty but i was proud of how the description of kara getting kryptonite poisoning in give me mercy no more ended up, like. the rhythm of the syllables of kara’s name (and lena’s coincidentally) sounding like a heartbeat, and the metaphor of lena as the sun being almost an inversion of the norm since so often kara is portrayed as the sunny one between them-- idk i was just really happy with how it turned out
