something interesting i noticed about obsession in one of the first scenes when bear goes to the store to buy nikki a necklace before just buying the wish, it shows how little he truly cares about her.

Instead of trying to turn himself into someone nikki can rely on to show his dedication to her by buying her the necklace, he instead just decides its too hard to actually make her have a reason to love him (even if she was never going to love him that way to begin with) and that its easier if he can just get what he wants. Pushing away her desires just to fulfill his.
