"If it were me packing up for island isolation, Nonesuch Records would be pretty high up in my priorities," says Radio New Zealand's William Dart (thank you, Mr. Dart!). The label is the focus of the latest episode of his show New Horizons, featuring recent releases from Lake Street Dive, Rhiannon Giddens & Francesco Turrisi, k.d. lang, and Caroline Shaw & Sō Percussion.
"After almost sixty years of operation, Nonesuch Records has ended up with a boundary-defying stable of artists that includes the Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson, Emmylou Harris, The Black Keys, and Randy Newman . . . and the list goes on, considerably. Seven months into 2021, Nonesuch continues to knock any would-be barriers asunder."
