"Only a few months," Arda said, looking at the worn down cassette tape and plucking it out of her walkman. "But I listen to it so often that it's starting to ware down." It was the only music she had, having only recently discovered that she could listen to music this way at all.

Back at the lab, if she wanted to listen to music, she would have to play it on the piano or cello herself. Either that or listen to Alma play his violin or the piano. But this music on the cassette tape was different than the music they played. It had a mixture of different instruments played and was more pop-y.

"I know there's other music out there, but this is the only tape I own," she said, looking at the blank label. It was a mix tape that Dr. Chen had made for her after she expressed an interest in listening to modern music. It had songs like 'Bette Davis Eyes' and "Voices Carry', along with several others. "I'd love to hear other music eventually though."
