Uh- some OC doodles from a bit ago
Top one is Holland and his daughter Addison
Bottom is Sparrow and Mars
2 seperate comic projects I plan to work on at some point after Where to Follow is done :')
I heard about the JSE Wave Your Flag collab, and decided that it'd be awesome to join for my first pride month! Here is my oc, Addison, wearing the ace flag.
The instructions said to cut out our characters if we drew traditionally, so I tried. Nothing I did could get rid of the glare, though, so I'm also submitting a pre-cut version. @nataissalty

Never Alone: Chapter Four
Warnings: Panic attack, anxiety (poor baby)
The logical Side’s room was dark, uncommon for her. Normally the computer monitors were buzzing with activity, brightening the Space with electricity. Now the only source of light was a simple desk lamp.

Never Alone: Chapter Three
Emotion had taken temporary residence in Creativity’s Space. While she would have been more comfortable knowing that another Side was just down the hall, Emotion wanted to spend as much time with the other as she could. Besides, Creativity seemed unwilling for her to leave as well.
In their time together, they came to grow close. They had the same interests as their host - squealing and chatting about various shows over popcorn and hot cocoa. Creativity was also able to teach the younger one about some of the Sides’ functions.
“You see dear, we’re like different parts of the brain. We each have a different role. I’m responsible for creativity – art, musicianship, those spontaneous bouts of inspiration that keep us awake at night. We all have a responsibility.”
The shorter Side tilted her head in thought, fingers running along her sweater sleeve. “So what’s mine?”
Creativity chuckled. “Silly, you represent emotions! All sorts, from what I can tell. You’re like the heart. You demonstrate excitement, joy, enthusiasm, everything! You’re also a wonderful friend to have, because you encourage me to do my job!” She grinned at Emotion, causing her to look down with a blush.
“Are…are there more like us?”
Creativity paused midway through pouring some tea. “Well, yes. They all have different roles and responsibilities.” She hummed and passed the cup to Emotion. “I suppose that they’re very busy, what with it being late afternoon.”
Emotion stared into the cup, feeling the steam caress her face with warmth as she carefully thought over her next statement. “Have you…have you ever met them?”
Creativity sat down with her usually finesse, yet her face betrayed her unease. “Well no, I hadn’t met anyone until you happened to stop by. Why do you ask?”
“Well, I kinda want to meet them. I want to make new friends!” She clutched her cup tighter with excitement, eyes their usually brightness. “I like you, you’re my best friend! But I want to see the others, I want us to make more friends!”
Creativity took a sip of her cup, eyes focused on the tea within. ‘I really don’t want to crush her.’ She pondered. “Well, deary, remember that not everyone is like us, right?” The other nodded, still grinning brightly. “Sweetie, not everyone is as- amiable as you. Ok?”
Emotion’s smile wavered, but her eyes remained alight with joy. “Yeah…but we can’t not give ‘em a chance! What if they’re really nice? What if they’re lonely? I don’t want anyone to be sad and alone!”
Creativity sighed. “Darling…” She was about to say more, but then a nearby computer monitor came to life. She set down her cup and quickly went over to it. Her eyes read the notification and her fingers flew over the keys, lips pursing and eyes narrowing with concern.
“Is everything ok?” Emotion could not help but feel scared. Usually when a notification came in, Creativity would still talk and smile. Yet this time, her face became stoic and remained so. “Creativity? What’s wrong?”
The fanciful Side sighed, pushing away from the monitor and turning around. “It seems that the host is having heightened anxiety. There’s a math test coming up and she’s had a busy home life.” Creativity uncharacteristically ran her hands over her face, leaning her elbows on her knees. “She hasn’t been studying like she should.”
Emotion thought for a moment, “Who’s in charge of studying?” “Logic.” “We should talk to Logic, then! She’ll know what we should do!” As she stood and turned to the door, Creativity sprang up from her computer chair.
“Emotion, wait! We need to discuss this!” Emotion turned around, but kept her hand on the doorknob. “What do you mean? If Logic is in charge of studying, then she needs to know!” Creativity sighed again, “It isn’t that simple, darling.”
“Logic already knows about the issue. She has a monitor just like I do in her Space, so she gets messages like this and takes care of them.” “But why isn’t she taking care of it?” Creativity feigned optimism, as much as hated to. “Well, she must be! She’s usually more than capable of these sorts of things. Besides, a little anxiety is normal before a test.”
“But why are you so nervous?” Creativity paused and rested a hand against her own forehead in defeat. “I suppose…it’s the frequency of the anxiety we’ve had.” When Emotion raised a curious eyebrow, she gestured to the monitor. “We’ve been having heightened anxiety for quite some time now. Come see.”
A few taps on the keyboard revealed a line graph. “The red is my creative output; the blue is Logic’s output, and the gray? That’s the amount of anxiety we’ve had.” Emotion’s eye’s widened. “So every time that you guys start working a lot, the anxiety gets worse and you guys can’t work well anymore?”
“Exactly.” Her eyes remained focused on the betraying chart, her mouth a thin line. “We’ve both been doing our fair share to work through the anxiety, but we can only do so much before it becomes too much and we need to stop. I… I shut down and cannot think of any creative ideas. I can only think of what could go wrong in any given real world situation. It remains like that until I, Logic, or someone else takes the wheel and overcomes the anxious thoughts.” She leaned her face into her hand, elbow resting on the desk top.
Emotion turned from the graph to the Side, eyes growing steadily sadder. “Is that what’s happening to Logic?” Creativity sighed. “It would appear so.” “Are you ok? I mean, are you getting nervous or anxious?” “…Not yet. I’m only nervous for Logic.” Emotion reflexively reached out and hugged the Side.
“It’s ok, we’ll be alright, right?” Creativity smiled and hugged her back. “Right, we always are.” She chuckled, “How do you always make me smile?” Emotion laughed. “It’s my talent! I’m also good at jokes – how do you make a painting brighter?” “I don’t know?” “You ‘Add-de-sun’!” She laughed at her own pun, while Creativity’s eyes widened.
“Is your name…Addison?” “Well, yeah!” “Dear, you trust me enough to give me your real name?” “Yeah! You’re like my big sister, I have to trust you!” Creativity said nothing, her smile widening by the second. She finally laughed and took Addison into a tight embrace. “Becky. My name is Becky, little one.”
Emotion was stiff for a moment, then she laughed and returned the hug. “Are we sisters now?” “Yes! Yes we are, sweetie!” They spent a long time hugging and laughing with joy.
Addison was the one to break the embrace, still smiling but eyes serious. “I still think we need to see Logic.” Becky paused, “Addison, I don’t know-“ “But she’s all alone! If she’s scared like you say, then she needs someone to help her out. Maybe we can!”
Becky sighed. “You’re adamant about this, aren’t you?” “Yep!” “…I suppose that you’re right. We can’t leave her alone.” She stood and brushed off her shirt front.
“But I’m getting changed before we leave. We simply can’t let her see us in our best tea party outfits.” She winked and walked away to her expansive walk-in closet. “I have an outfit that you might want to try, dear!” Addison beamed and followed her, “Does it have long sleeves?” “Darling, would I give you anything else?”
