ok so i've mentioned this several times before but it gets its own post now, let's go!
i have a big (and still growing) group/series of characters who are based on/inspired by real bands that i love. they're always in the works, at various stages of development, and even tho i shape them in the modern world, i'm not aiming for realism nor any set story/universe.
i put a lot of work into them, especially the names of their bands (which is a very difficult but so far fulfilling process), and i'm really proud of them. so i figured i'd make a post to keep track of my progress on them bc i think i need to share my joy more often lol.
for the most part, i base the number of members & their roles entirely on their base/inspiring bands, which i worried at first might be lazy, but they are ultimately self-indulgent and for the sake of my own joy. also who even cares.
some of these band names may be subject to change! we'll see where it all goes :)

The band consists of Tulip Rossí of Neverland (daughter of Tiger Lily and Lampwick Rossí), Ligera Guzmán Madrigal (daughter of Dolores Madrigal and Mariano Guzmán), Eleanor Belmagio-Carmelo of Llyr (daughter of Alexander Bluefairy-Carmelo and Princess Eilonwy of Llyr), and Blue Veronica Rossí of Neverland (daughter of Tiger Lily and Lampwick Rossí).
Tulip, Eleanor, and Ligera are 14 by d3 while Blue Veronica is 8.
Tulip and Ligera are the main songwriters, but occasionally Eleanor or Blue Veronica will contribute.
They have a friendly rivalry with the Auradonnas (as friendly as a rivalry as one can have when the main leads are cousins, anyway).
Pino 'Pin' Collodi-Rossí-Liddell (the child of Alice Liddell and Pinocchio Collodi-Rossí, and the step cousin of Tulip) is their manager.
Parsnip, Tulip's pet baby miniature donkey, is their donkey mascot.
They have three groupies—two of which are also Tulip's cousins: Mariana Rivera Madrigal (daughter of Miguel Rivera and Mirabel Madrigal. One of their groupies), Fabian Collodi-Rossi-Liddell (the child of Alice Liddell and Pinocchio Collodi-Rossí), and Karina Collodi-Rossi-Liddell (the child of Alice Liddell and Pinocchio Collodi-Rossí).
The four of them don't get together as often as they like because of the fact that Ligera and Eleanor both go to Auradon Prep while Blue Veronica and Tulip go to Neverland Academy. Not to mention Eleanor's busy schedule as a princess and heir to her parents' throne.
They do a lot of talent shows, family parties, birthday parties, and other things like that.
Blue Veronica likes when they look more costume-y and Tulip does not—preferring when their costumes look more glamorous than anything else. Eleanor agrees with Tulip more on the matter but usually goes with whatever is more practical while Ligera doesn't really have a strong opinion either way. Likely because she and Tulip have a different idea of what is glamorous.
The people who tell them the name is morbid? Well, jokes on them. Lampwick thought it was funny.
The four of them have a lot of sleepovers.
Whenever Blue Veronica and Tulip get into an argument that Eleanor and Ligera don't feel like meditating, they threaten to call their mom. This works surprisingly well.
Unluckily for them, Pin threatens to do the same when all four of them are fighting and refuse to listen to his mediation attempts.
Unluckily for him, the little groupies have picked up on this and have actually called everyone's parents when they all got into a five-way argument and wouldn't chill.
(The five of them were grounded for a month for getting into an argument that bad and for the things they said, especially in front of the younger kids and they weren't allowed to work on band stuff for that month).
They were arguing over artistic differences and Tulip kept asking for Blue Veronica to change things on the logo she was designing for their band. Pin was involved in the argument because someone (no one remembers who) made a negative comment about his managing techniques.
Artie books them often before Tulip and he get together. He does it slightly less often afterwards.
Their music is usually Bubble Gum Pop/ Retro but occasionally they'll dabble in something else (usually when Pin has to sub in for one of them).
Pin has a lot of fun when he has to sub in for one of them. Even if he's not the biggest fan of the glittery and overzealous outfits.
The four of them and Pin struggle with being taken seriously because a lot of people don't have a high opinion of them because their pop stars/because they do retro music. Which leads to them being called fake, overrated, etc.
They don't book dances because without fail, Tulip always ends up in the crowd. And as much as Pin likes jumping in, it's inconvenient for him to have to change and for the rest of the members to try and remember whatever song Pin wrote that week that they weren't supposed to be performing.
Ligera keeps suggesting they add instruments but the others keep vetoing her.
Blue Veronica has edited an album cover together onto a record cover and it is the first one they're planning to use when they have the money to actually get an album. This is it:

Ligera, Blue Veronica, Tulip, Pin, and Eleanor all made a poster together of the band and spent a lot of time working on it (I'm talking months) because most of them aren't really familiar with editing techniques. Here is the poster:

Pin sounds like Mad Tsai in “Killer Queen” specifically when he sings.
Tulip sounds like Maggie Lindemann in “Friends Go”, Gabby Sophia in “Fairytales”, Ghoolie in “You Always Hurt The Ones You Love”, Natalie Chavez in “Hero and Villain Duet”, Selina Gomez, Brittney Spears, Lesley Gore, and Cyndi Lauper.
Eleanor sounds like a mix between Ella Langley “you look like you love me” and aeseaes in “Drunken Sailor”.
Ligera sounds like a mix between MilkyMelodies in “Azula Villain Song—I’m a Wildfire”, Carolsdaughter in “Violent” and Lydia the Bard “Dolores Villain Song—Rule the Quiet”.
Blue Veronica sounds like a mix between Taylor Swift in the song “Mean” and Demi Lovato in the song “Heart attack” when she sings.
Ligera wears the colors black, white, and greyish blue most often.
Tulip wears the colors green and pink most often.
Blue Veronica mostly wears blue, white, and purple.
Eleanor mainly wears blue, black, pink, and white.
Pin wears blue, red, white, yellow, and black a lot.
Ligera is very embarrassed by how much of a fan Mariana is of Tulip. She interrupts their sessions a lot.
