Separated

Here it is, the Dorian origin story I promised. I'll warn you, it's gonna be sad.

He was always an inquisitive child, fascinated by the world around him. His parents always encouraged that, managing to get him a Chimchar as his own personal pokemon when he turned seven. They also frequently took him on walks through Viridian Forest when they could and the weather allowed, simply watching as he stared at the various pokemon in awe. It was adorable, and they loved him. Anything he ever wanted for this fixation of his, they got for him. A backpack to carry all of his supplies in for himself and his pokemon, nice running shoes that likely wouldn't wear out for a long time, and many other items. Life was good.

It was a day like any other, they took Dorian for a walk in Viridian forest so that he could observe the wild Pokemon and enjoy the scenery. They trailed along a few feet behind him at all times, keeping a close eye on him in case anything went wrong. They knew he could handle himself if it came to wild Pokemon, they had been helping him practice battling for several years and by now he was ten years old. With three years of experience, he could handle any of the pokemon of the forest more than likely.

They watched as he crouched down, sneaking up carefully to observe a Pikachu that had fallen asleep within a small clearing in the forest. It was adorable. Then, unbeknownst to them, a portal began opening behind them. The outside looked like a ring made of gold, with a swirling purple and black vortex inside. Small hands reached out, pulling them through as the pokemon who created the portals let out a manic chuckle. The mother let out a surprised yell as they disappeared through the portal which closed behind them as a small, strange pokemon was similarly forced through the portal in the opposite direction of where they were going. Then, as quickly as the portal had opened, it was gone. Hoopa, the mischief pokemon, always enjoyed spreading a bit of chaos.

Dorian heard a yell from his parents, startling himself and the Pikachu resting nearby. When he turned around, though, they were gone. "Mom?" He waited briefly for a reply after he called out. "Dad?" When none came, he walked towards where they had last been shortly behind him. He panicked, his breathing picking up as he fell to his knees by a tree. He sobbed softly, lost and alone within the forest. He didn't know the way back too well, his parents usually helped guide him back. Dorian was never good at navigating himself, and he didn't know what he was going to do or where his parents had gone. Had they left him? No, they wouldn't do that, would they? He knew that he could be a bit annoying at times thanks to his hyperfixation probably but he didn't think that he was that bad, right?

Doubt, anxiety, panic, and fear ate away at him as he cried into his hands. He didn't even hear as a small pokemon bounced up to him. Then he felt something, a light peck from something that had come up to him. When he looked up, what he saw startled him, and he scrabbled backwards slightly. It looked like a Pidgey, except covering its body was a mass of tendrils that would have looked more at home on a Tangela. Its eyes were wide, the pokemon tilting its head at him slightly as if inquisitive.

"Hello? Child, are you alright? What is wrong?"

Dorian knew some pokemon could mimic human speech through moves like copycat, and quite a few could even learn to speak, but he hadn't expected... This. "I... I don't know where my parents are."

The small bird-like pokemon took a few small hops to get close to him once more, still having to look up at slightly Dorian even though at this point he was sitting down. "Where did you last see them?"

"They were... They were right here..." He stuttered slightly as he spoke, still scared and also wary of this rather bizarre talking pokemon. He stood up, holding an arm up to full length as he continued to speak. "They're like this tall. Mom has long brown hair and dad has short black hair, have you seen them?"

"I do not think I have, I apologize. Can I ask you a question?"

Dorian lowered his arm, tilting his head slightly at the small bird. "Y-yeah?"

"Where are we? This looks similar to my home, but I do not know where we are."

Dorian knelt down to be at least slightly closer to the bird's height before speaking again. "You're lost too...? We're in a place called Viridian Forest."

"Ah, yes. So it has the same name as the forest where I am from."

"You... You know this place."

"Not exactly this place. It is similar to where I am from, yes, but it also seems different in quite a few ways. The pathways through the forest are not exactly the same, but I think I that could navigate it based on what similarities I do recognize."

"You- You can? Can you help me? I... I don't know the way out. Also, I'm sorry, but... What are you...? I've never seen a Pokemon like you before, and I've seen a lot of pokemon."

The pokemon nodded slightly in response to the first question, hopping up directly next to Dorian and leaning slightly against him. They could tell that the child was still severely distressed, and they figured that maybe this could help. Physical comfort wasn't something they had done before, but they had seen other humans do it. "Ah, yes. In my home, I would have been called a Tangey. An inexplicable combination of a Tangela and a Pidgey. Whether said combination is a result of nature or some scientific experiment gone wrong, I do not know much about myself. As long as I can remember, I have been like this."

Dorian tensed up slightly as the pokemon came up next to him, but breathed out a sigh and relaxed as it simply leaned against him. "Tangey... I can remember that. I'm Dorian, nice to meet you Tangey."

"Nice to meet... me?"

"Yeah, you look really cool and you're nice. Also I've read in books my parents got me that some pokemon can learn to talk but I've never seen it before today."

The small bird reached out a small tendril towards Dorian, gently setting it on his arm in comfort. "Thank you, child. Where do you live? I can try to get you to wherever that is."

"Viridian City."

"I know where that is, yes, follow me." The bird hopped a few steps away but didn't leave, waiting for the child to follow.

Dorian stood up slowly, looking down at this small pokemon that had decided to help him. "Hey, Tangey? I have a question."

"Yes?"

"Would you like to be my pokemon? I have one, but maybe being together could help since we're both lost."

What Dorian didn't see was a small tear form in the bird's eye as he asked that question. This human, he wanted them as a companion? They had never even considered that someone would want them to accompany them throughout their own personal journeys. They used a small tentacle to wipe away the tear before turning around, nodding up at the child. "Yes... I would quite enjoy that. Perhaps together we will not be nearly as lost anymore, yes?"

Dorian wiped at his own eyes with the sleeve of his shirt, smiling down at the bird. "Yeah! I promise I'll be a good trainer, and I'll help you find your way back home!"

That last part surprised the pokemon, although they didn't show it. This human wanted to help them? "That is very kind of you, thank you. Let us get you home so that you can at least gather your belongings."

With that, the two went off into the forest to find their way out. Two individuals lost in different ways, each hoping to find something lost to them.

I know this is too early on in the au to ask, but how many fankids are there exactly?

At the time I’m writing this I have 10 fan VKs and a lot of stuff about them that I could rant about for a miles long post but for now here’s a quick view of the first 6 babies.

Note: They exist in an alternate timeline of my AU “Hades’s Mansion of Villains” where most of the original house residents still live there with their children and have become a big and even more chaotic family.

-Dorian (son of Cruella De Vil and Queen Grimhilde):

·         The oldest and self-proclaimed “leader” among the kids living in the mansion.

·         Basically a chip from the old block, a dramatic and flamboyant showman just like his mothers.

·         Blood is fueled by sass and coffee, also part of the reason why he’s sleep deprived  all the time.

·         He may have little to no magic but he can surely poison you and your loved ones.

-Daiyu (daughter of Captain Hook):

·         The “second in command” of the house.

·         Very energetic and easily excitable by everything, like a little squirrel.

·         Well versed with the sword and with a piano but incredibly prone to accidents in her everyday life due to her impulsiveness and lack of a sense of self-preservation.

·         No magic but can still kick some ass of people twice her size.

-Gwendolyn (daughter of Maleficent and Ursula):

·         The guardian of the last braincell and essentially the mom of the group.

·         Prim, sarcastic and elegant young lady until she goes apeshit, usually at other’s stupid actions.

·         Loves all spooky and grim, it’s Halloween all year round for this goth bitch.

·         Has an innate ability with magic and an obsession with getting more and more power and knowledge.

-Nar-Aljahim (son of Hades and Jafar):

·         A literal spawn from hell.

·         Snarky little shit obsessed with power and chaos, and a quite the hot-headed fella as well.

·         Another little goth in the making, sharing Gwen’s love for the spooky-gloomy stuff.

·         A lot of magic potential, but can hardly control it so he’s a constant hazard.

-Selena (daughter of Dr. Facilier and Oogie Boogie):

·         When they say the quietest people are the most dangerous they are referring to Selena.

·         Wednesday Addams vibes, but add just a bit of her dads’s flair and more snarky comments.

·         Has no respect for any privacy or any pockets and will blackmail the living heck outta ya to get what she wants. By far the most scheming one of the bunch and eternally greedy.

·         Not a lot of magic, but compensates it with manipulation and knowledge in technology.

-Ukatili (daughter of Shere Khan and reluctantly raised by Scar):

·         Kitten inside the body of a feral baby

·         Not a lot of talking but a heck of a lot of bitting if she gets mad or scared.

·         Not easy to befriend since she’s afraid of humans, but once you offer her food or a hat she will love you forever,

·         Can either be the least problematic or the most chaotic of these bunch, and there’s no in between. God have mercy on us all.

PS: I don’t think I will be publishing more stuff about them here since I wanna keep things organized, so I’ll either do it all on @ladirectora (main art account for fanart and original work) or just create a new blog for them.
