The struggle to restore Erebor did not end with the Battle, and the House of Durin has many challenges yet to face. Thorin must fight to win the approval of his claim to the Throne; Kíli and Tauriel face exile should their relationship come to light; Fíli has lost a part of himself that he cannot get back. And with faces new and old returned the Lonely Mountain, unseen threats rise on the horizon…

“Mm,” Ragna said. “I’m a bit like you, Fee. My ma’s a Firebeard - hence my coloring - but she stayed behind when Adad and I came here. Too old, she said, but Adad remembered the old days, and wanted to come back.” She shrugged. “It’s alright - Adad’s better company than her...and, well, we thought business would be better. ’S’not, really, though...hence the barmaid getup.”

Fíli hesitated. “Thanks, though. Woulda been a goner if not for you.”
“My employer would tell me that your continued patronage is thanks enough,” Ragna said. “Me, on the other hand—I’d just like a pal, maybe.”
Fíli sighed. If she was going to be that upfront...fine. He needed an ally, and he kind of wanted a friend, too, if he was being honest.
“Fí,” he said. “Call me Fí.”
