Montague's parents where part of the old kings court btw. His dad was kings advisor so yeah.

When Monty (Valls dad) was a kid, he outplayed old king in a game of chess and got promised (it got written down) to become kings successor if Carion dies or anything else happens.

His family had to move because he ever so suddenly began to grow. ( hm i wonder why, probably a curse or smth)

And like, whats the greatest gift you can give to your son? A kingdom you once won in a chess game! Good thing they had the promise written down so no one could complain.

So from what I understood, vall could have POSSIBLY eaten humans before.

Have his parents done so as well? I mean, I would expect not because the king was friends with the human king but vall literally RULES OVER a human kingdom, so his consumption of humans is even more concerning 😭.

No, his parents didnt eat humans.

Some relatives from his mother's side did tho.(Like Melisande's father, he wasnt exactly a good guy lol) So maybe that also influenced Vall in a way

Vall's fathers side is a bit complicated.

Ive decided to make my life harder and came up with a thing that this side of the family has a dormant giant gene that appears randomly throughout generations. (Example being Vall's father lol)

I've been thinking abt why i add lots of bird themes and... First of all why not. Second of all they could be good agricultural advanstment.

Why birds you may ask? They mostly help with farming. Dispersing seeds from far away, helps with yielding rarer crops.

Maybe the city is also popular for their mail being delivered by trained birds lol

I should maybe make a map

The idea is that the surrounding area consists of fields and plains, but the city itself is divided into several sections: a castle on the high ground, followed by the main city, then the town and smaller houses/everything else. Im not good at city building lol

He doesn't rule both kingdoms, only human one.

He was assigned to rule human Kingdom by his father after previous king mysteriously disappeared (people assume the griffons took him because he really liked to feed birds from his castles balcony, but no one knows for sure)

Old king and Vall's father were good friends so no brainer he was chosen to rule next + old king didn't have anyone to take his place from his side.

No one wants to have beef with kingdom of giants so people didn't complain much when a rumour about new king started to spread. But they were shocked when Vall arrived lol

He swears if people gonna complain to him about some dumb stuff again hes gonna loose it
