Here’s my comic for week one of my event #arcanamidnightmasquerade, this is extremely late and I’ve just been posting updates of it in my Instagram story. This is one of my controversial opinions

But being called a mate grosses me out. Many Valdemar writers write Valdemar to call their s/o their mate, and my problem with this is that implies that they are purposely trying to breed them like an animal, and implies that their s/o have child bearing abilities and want children. I don’t know really but it kinda forces heterosexual norms too. Also I headcanon Valdemar not really wanting children so this out of character for me. But this is also the same person who headcanons Valdemar wanting cuddles, forehead kisses, hand holding and that’s it.

Also I hate the idea of soulmates. That implies that you have to wait to find a special someone to be happy, making your life rely on someone else to exist. It also means you are forced to love one person by “destiny” and not love them for who they are. I’m here for the slow burn and the connections formed between them, they fall in love because they are person who has grown a fondness for the other over a period of time. They make each other happy because the choose to, I think that’s beautiful.

Also Ramora hates being called : someone’s mate, soulmate, destined to be, and thing along the lines “we belong together, it was meant to be, it was fate” . One of her exes would use soulmate stuff as an excuse to keep her there. She can tolerate being called princess and other nicknames by Valdemar tho.

One of my friends on Instagram @notsohiddenarcanaheadcanons made a AU were her MC (Delaney) and Valdemar go on a trip to Europe to study the black death! After some conversating Ramora tagged along as a bodyguard and puts up their tents. This was really fun to do but it took forever.
