Marte is short and slightly chubby. Her hair is curly and black, while her eyes are green with a fleck of brown around the pupil. Her skin is pale and she seems to have a permanent blush on the cheeks. She is 22 years old, died at a rather young age.

Marte is a crusader in the service of the Church. She was forced to become one because of her parents who, passing her off as a man, hoped she would bring enough money for the poor in her neighborhood in Rome. She fights in the Holy Land and becomes general of the troops. When she returns, Marte discovers the fraud of the Pope's indulgences and riches; so, one night, the crusader decides to steal them and escape on horseback in the direction of his neighborhood with the intention of donating to the poors while telling the truth about the Church. For this reason she will be convicted of heresy; she will die at the stake.
When she was still little, Ares was angry: someone had stolen one of his many names and it was unacceptable. So, he sent Hermes to check, who became attached to Marte, protecting her and listening to her prayers. When the crusader dies, her soul will go to Hellheim because of her sins, but Hermes, in order not to lose it, entrusts the soul of Marte to Hades. After proving her worth, the king of the Underworld will appoint her as general of the troops of Helleim, as well as right hand man. Brunhilde will ask her to take part in Ragnarok, but Marte will refuse: she didn't want to risk her life for the same people that killed her, staying loyal to her Lord Hades and not betraying Hermes' trust.

She knows how to play the guitar: in the inns, Marte always tried to raise the mood of her soldiers, lighting a fire in the midst of that vortex of blood and war.
Her favorite flower is the common red poppy. Hermes brings her one every time he visits her in Hellheim.
Marte's character is calm, empathetic and sensitive to the world around her. Her hands aren't fit to get blood on them and her soul shouldn't carry the weight of deaths. The crusader regrets having had no other choice; despite this, she is willing to draw her sword in case someone attacks those she loves.
14.Does your OC hold grudges? How good are they at letting things go? Do they believe in second chances?
hmmm. okay so i think for river not holding grudges is a deliberate choice (bar their father up until the wedding crashing, after which they're at sort of a exhausted-resigned-acceptance that this is simply the (not) relationship they're going to have with him). it doesn't necessarily come easily to him to left things go, but! he is trying! so he might linger on things but try to move on, or consciously remind himself that he's trying not to hold something against someone. long-term they aren't likely to hold a grudge against someone without a really good reason i think. second chances... yes. third or fourth chances maybe less so, but second chances Yes.
oc for a wildly different thing (hi cross this is for you <3), susan: absolutely holds a grudge, that bird is ornery. won't let you forget that she's got a grudge, either. is this a good trait for her to have as a spy? remains to be seen. as for second chances, only begrudgingly and if you've really Proved Yourself.
32. How does your OC handle rejection?
ohhh this one is a thinker. thinking about how i've written river so far, they tend to internalize it as their fault, and the hurt from that causes them to lash out. (case in point: his Big Inciting Event is not getting an invite to his own father's wedding. but also i've had him be mean as part of this pattern a couple times. they're in therapy but they're still Messy)
susan...depends on the rejection, but my first thought is that she's very "well, i don't need you anyway" and moving on, because she's very independent, very no-nonsense, very stern business lady archetype, she's not wallowing or lingering, she's moving forward however she has to. if it does hit her harder, she's still waiting until she's by herself to think on it at all.

Octopath Lads
Oswell - Cleric - 41
He lives in the middle of nowhere in the Leaflands, and he has a bunch of sheep. He isn't really a legitimate cleric due to "retiring" and is now just really a shepherd. That doesn't stop him from being forced out into the wild because oh no everyone in his village is disappearing for some reason. He is trans, because why not and also I personally need a character to have "__ is pregnant??" meme for. He was also a part of the Moonshade Order before he transitioned.
Casimir - Thief - 20
Definitely not my favorite what are you talking about (he is suffering the most). You know that child Claude had in his boss? Yeah that's Casimir now, sorry guys. He somehow survived in Lostseed for 10 years, but not after getting his left eye basically cut out, thanks to specifically Ruined Vessel. Later after he ran off from Lostseed he got adopted and oh no he's gonna be king now. But his new younger brother didn't like that very much and tried to kill Casimir. So now Casimir is on the run. He also may or may not have Vide in his head nooo of course i wouldn't do that to him he's just a little guy.
Tyra - Warrior - 18
She is making me suffer because I don't know what to do with her story wise. She is literally the only one who isn't connected to Moonshade/Vide at ALL she is pristine. She also isn't supposed to even be in the group, and they might be trying to kill her just to reduce the moral of the rest of the squad. She doesn't die though, nuh-uh, the gods like her too much apparently.
Orial - Merchant - 26
Ms. Anti-Monopoly and Black Market Dealer I love her. I listened to "Feed the Machine" and "Give and Take" (both by Poor Man's Poison) making her. In short her father is a bitch, divorces Orial's mom and does everything he can to make sure they're both in the pits of poverty because he's a bitch. Oh he's also buying the rights to the steam engine from each town under Partitio and Roque's noses. How is he getting away with that? I don't know but he is. Orial doesn't like that. She also tries to drop kick Partitio because she blames some of this on him. Good times.
Premysl - Dancer - 19
I HATE HIS NAME but it's sticking now. It's pronounced "SH EH - m ih - sh uh l" by the by. Have fun. Anyways he is like Tyra and not supposed to really be here, except he gets so caught up in Moonshade's business that he's basically assimilated into their dumbass plans to bring Vide back in record time. He's also half Cait because plot, with specifically Cait ears, tail, and feet. He doesn't wear shoes but at least he has toe beans so it's fine. He's also pretty much openly gay. What is a woman he only goes "woah. man".
Actaeon - Hunter - 20
The kid that was announced to be born on the Night of the Scarlet Moon? Hey guess who that is now, Actaeon, yeah. Since there was a lot of darkness and Shadow around and since he was, well literally a newborn he ended up taking a lot of that energy in so now he is Not doing well. He's also a half beastling, and also kinda is like a werewolf (or I guess, were-dhole) because he can shift into just a fully beast form. Can he control it? Sometimes. He definitely won't be the cause of another calamity on Toto'haha, what are you talking about. His beast companion is named Nagi, I don't have the exact looks but if you know what a markhor is, yeah that.
Tomo - Scholar - Unknown
The final character that is based on something else in Octopath 2, that one humanoid figure in Harvey's lab (Osvald's chapter 4), that's Tomo. She does Not know how to be human but dammit she is trying her best. She also asks questions, a lot of questions. She can and will ask you "why" like a four year old, so many times. She also barely sleeps, who knows if she even can or needs to. Almost every time the party stops at an Inn she is Not There she is either wandering or in the lobby reading or writing. She was also made to be a vessel for Vide when the time comes but well thankfully she doesn't exactly get that treatment. Doesn't mean she's treated any better by Moonshade.
Hanako - Apothecary - 37
She is like Tyra and I have no real idea what she's doing, but she's supposed to be here and she is not having a good time. Her girlfriend I MEAN best friend was kidnapped so now Hanako has to go around and get a hold of some ingredients that are very much illegal and dangerous just to get her back. Hanako is going to do that anyway no matter what because love is dangerous and so are lesbians. She herself though is the most closed off out of anyone else in the group, and yes she will help anyone who needs it but unless it's a friend she'd rather just hand you the medicine and leave. Then again this could change at any moment oops.

This is one of my OC worlds! this is an extremely trimmed down version and just a tdlr; without too many spoilers, so that people on here have more context :3 its a novel WIP with 3 novels planned.
SETTING
The main story is set in 2025 where history played out slightly differently. The world has dragons secretly living in society. The world itself has 1990s style technology and clothing (imagine if technology stopped advancing in 1990 and just was put on ‘pause’). Humans live in large cities dominated by plant life and do not live in rural areas anymore. Something happened in the year 2000 that triggered a change of the timeline compared to our timeline.
STORY
The main story focuses on 5 young adults working around this world and their powers. Each one has a multitude of moral issues to deal with, these the name of the story! It has a strong focus on moral greyness and shades of moral issues.
LORE
There are humans who have dragon ancestry, who can transform into dragon forms. A dragon’s standard powers include the ability to transform freely between forms, emotion sensing powers, flight and fire breath.
Some dragons have additional magic, such as controlling fire.
CHARACTERS
There are 5 main point of view characters, here are their toyhouse links!
Emily - she/her, a shy character who gets thrown into the secret world without realising she’s involved. She frets over other people’s emotions and problems and wants everyone to be happy - a goal that isn’t the easiest to do.
Katrina - she/her, she’s extremely loud, talkative and can be fairly irrational. Has lots of issues with her powers. Loves photography and coffee and trying to do the right thing.
Jasper - he/him, flower boy! He loves baking and flowers, and prefers to be passive than active when dealing with issues. He’s very kind hearted but very cautious.
Hayden - he/him, easily aggravated and has jealousy issues. Very cocky and outspoken, and can be nice, if he likes you. Has a strong interest in making stories.
Hyeon - they/she, abrasive, withdrawn and emotionally distant. They have a lot of issues as they weren’t born a dragon, and feel fairly isolated. They really love fashion when given a moment to think about it.
