Out of interest, if beta had to pair up, like for a mission of something, who would they pair up with / not want to pair up with?
Beta squad gets along pretty well usually. There might be preferences, but they’d be okay with most pairings. There’s only a few instances I could think of where they might not want to be paired with someone, though it’s more out of logic than dissent. For example, as well as Fives and Echo work together they wouldn’t want to be paired up because then neither of them can look after the rest of the team. Hevy and Zeer wouldn’t want to be paired together because they’re both heavy gunners–Del wouldn’t put those two together anyway for that very reason. Coric and Del wouldn’t be together. Del is very rational, which would clash with Coric’s willingness to drop everything if someone is injured. Nax and Fives might squabble a little but they’d still be able to work together just fine.
As for preferences: Droidbait was obviously close to Attie before. Now he prefers to stick closer to Echo, which Echo doesn’t mind at all because he was worried about him for a while. Nax works best with either Coric or Cutup, which Del was worried about because either one of those pairings could turn into a snark fest but they manage to keep it under control (mostly). Tipper naturally gets along really well with Cutup… and Zeer too, actually.
Fives and Del don’t really have preferences, because they want to watch after everyone. Hevy doesn’t have any preferences either. He’s willing to be a solid support for anyone.
