My sweet neglected Trill, modeling yet another Schoolism assignment. The objective was to take a simple character and shade them using different angles of light. I fudge terribly when it comes to form, so this was really beneficial for me to try :)

A little thank you drawing for @doodleimprovement / @ittybittytuffet, who very kindly surprised me with some cute Trill drawings when I was having a kinda low day. So here is Trill with some get-well flowers for her character, Tuffet, who apparently just had a bit of a bad time herself.

Hooooooo boy, has this OC gotten out of hand...

Trill is a wind/air Elemental that was summoned up during the Human-Monster war. Quite physically weak compared to other monsters, Air Elementals were used mostly as support for Fire Elementals or monsters who used fire based attacks. Trill was very carefree even in the midst of a war, and had a hard time drumming up enough anger at the humans to really invest in the battles she took part in. 

After a brutal attack destroyed most of her team, Trill was unable to come to terms with her fear and rage. After losing her form several times, she approached the scientists and requested a means of dulling or separating the emotions that were tearing her apart. They created the skulls as a way to stabilize her, with each skull housing different memories which formed a unifying emotional mindset. 

When Trill is wearing one skull, the emotions and memories of the others are drastically minimized, allowing her to focus and keep form. While this tactic was originally meant only as a way to keep Trill alive, it had the unintended consequence of turning her into a powerful weapon as well. When wearing the skull that houses her fear and rage from the human attack, Trill's own attack power rises and she becomes incredibly dangerous. She spent most of the remainder of the war wearing this mask, and did considerable damage to the human forces (as well as herself, but that’s a different story).

After the war ended and the monsters were banished to the Underground, Trill locked up the skulls containing her rage and sorrow and did her best to forget about them. However, without the old scientists doing regular magical maintenance on the skulls, they will eventually erode and collapse. Trill is doing a really good job of not thinking about what will happen to her when they do. 

Elemental Cores, and their use in the Human-Monster War, are ideas that belong to @sushinfood​. Thanks for letting me play with them a bit. Hopefully I didn’t get the particulars too botched ;)
