One of the younger members of the Samutsakul clan. A sibling to Marzuki. Since the 16th century, it was unusual for girls to be raised in this family; they could not live past infancy due to various unknown ailments. Thus the Samutsakul lineage leans solely to the patriarchal side. Nonetheless, with ceaseless efforts, the forefathers eagerly awaited a healthy girl from among the mothers. Unlike her brother, Farhani is outgoing and excitable to a fault. She has good intentions but always executes them in a reckless manner, resulting in bewildering outcomes. An intuitive fellow whose favoured form of self-expression is artistic media, she simply finds it difficult to sit still until her creativity is fuelled.

🐙 Marzuki and his siblings! 🦑

A handful of old drawings! Marzuki has a younger sister named Farhani, and two half siblings, Mazlan and Peamai. The latter two are irrelevant to the Samutsakul bloodline, so they're remained on the sidelines for the time being.

✒️ The Meaning Behind the Name, Samutsakul (สมุทรสกุล)

This name is the combination of two Thai words: "Samut" (สมุทร meaning sea) and "Sakul" (สกุล meaning family or ancestry). As a fun fact, the pronunciation of "samut" holds two different meanings, each with their own distinct spellings. One is spelled as สมุทร (sea), whereas the other is spelled สมุด which means book. So it's basically like a pun! From this, the Samutsakul family have their ties to books as they all possess a vast knowledge and sea creatures from which their designs and motifs/themes are borrowed. For an obvious example, Marzuki's design borrows certain elements from an octopus. In Thai, octopus (ปลาหมึก, pla meuk) literally translates to ink fish. He carries six tomes, representing the arms of an octopus.
