#oc: the apprentice

The clay figure I commissioned from my friend finally arrived!!!!!!! The Apprentice is now real and she will be causing havoc soon.

Rain World ocs! The Iterator is named Spool of Yarn (they/them). They were once a facility dedicated to science before the Mass Ascension of the Ancients. They still experiment, of course, making strange spliced chimera organisms... as well as a project they have been working on for a long, long time. Regardless, Yarn is a cheery fellow (and lonely-) and is very enthusiastic to share their knowledge!

Which of course leads to the Apprentice (he/they), a young slugcat who met Yarn on the quest to earn his title. They ended up in Yarn's superstructure along with their faithful blue lizard Stinky (maybe I'll draw him someday hehe). Seeing how curious the young slugcat was, Yarn took him under their wing and began to teach Apprentice everything they knew. Apprentice passes on this knowledge to their slugcat colony, their peers in awe they were able to speak to one of the great "Sky Gods". Fun fact: I did try writing a fic about how these two met and the what happened after, but I lost motivation for it. It is under an orphan account on Ao3 but I forgor the title sorry. I do want to revisit Yarn and Apprentice's story someday, but maybe in a way that doesn't require too much of my braincells gfdcsjmn

Stressed, overwhelmed, getting a bit down. Silver lining? I drew the Apprentice from mine and my friend's Arthurian WIP "The Dragon and the Herald" in a modern setting
