Finally colored in some Beto sketches! Still not perfect, but coming along nicely. I’ve got more sketches to color in that I think’ll help expand on his personality. Like I said in that link to the sketches, he was snarky, self assured, and extremely forward. When they first met, Juan most certainly was not the middle thing. (maybe he was previously, but not at the time) Knowing Beto, learning to fully accept his own sexuality, and honestly coming more into himself really
I don’t know if he ever gets quiet as grey as in the top left, or if it’s a result of actual old age or just the harsh conditions of the trail- but he did go grey while Juan knew him. A few years before dying, he’d make light of it, lament to Juan that he was going grey while the other looked pretty much the same as when they first met like a decade earlier. Juan’d tease him about it, joke he’s never gonna go grey. (Which for all he knew might actually be true) Beto would fire back. “Mark my words González, one day you’re gonna get grey as me! ‘N when I see that day you ain’t never gonna hear the end of it!”
Beto doesn’t live to see Juan go grey.
Was watching Black Sails, and the sad gay pirates made me wanna draw sad gay cowboys.
