what are you most looking forward to writing when it comes to your HOTD ocs?

oooh okay that's such a good question! is it cheating to say everything? lol in all seriousness i think i am most excited to write about their respective roles (if any) in the war itself. such as, jaedon and jaegor atop of their dragons and torvi's face off with daemon. when that will actually be fully fleshed out depends on how the story is interpreted in the live action series. <3

Do you have any snippets to share for Jaedon Velaryon and how he fits into everything etc?

aah i am so sorry to answer this late bb!! i have been behind on asks as of late. nevertheless, i don’t have many cohesive things about jaedon written into a fic yet, but i will give a rundown of his role in the dance??

jaedon is the son of vaemond velaryon and his wife, jadis baratheon. he is a mama’s boy witha good heart and a fairly clear moral compass (which is dangerous in the asoiaf world but let’s ignore that lol). he is really only shown a couple of times playing with rhaenyra’s sons, jace and luke, who are around his age. years later as a young man, he is present alongside his mother to bear witness to his father’s claim against luke’s right to driftmark. hence, he is present when his father is slain by daemon over his harsh words towards rhaenyra. he initially places a hand on his sword to attack daemon back but is deterred by his mother’s state of shock and wailing. while he didn’t agree with his father that driftmark should fall to them instead of luke, he still didn’t think it was right of daemon to just kill his father for “speaking the harsh truth.” still, he tries not to let it put a wedge in his relationship with the young princes and instead focuses on being a rock for his mother (who seems to never cease to be fucked over by the targs lol). 

apart from losing his father during this trip, he also meets and instantly falls for aeva targaryen. the two find ways to secretly keep in contact until the dance officially commences. he is quick to side with rhaenerya in spite of his beef with daemon, but it takes his mother a bit longer to follow suit. it is only when rhaenys claims fealty to her that his mother chooses to do the same for the sake of protecting her son as rhaenys has done with her granddaughters. it is strictly political, at least until the young princes lose their lives. that’s kind of when the domino hits and it begins to take a bit of a toll on jaedon as well. he’s lost his childhood friends, knows little of the whereabouts of his beloved, and his mother is temporality taken prisoner. in summary, jaedon’s main role in it all is kind of as a key ally of team black but not team daemon lol.
